    Gail (Tomm) Beiter, a retired teacher, amazing wife, incredible mother, and extraordinary grandmother died suddenly on Saturday, September 14, 2019. She is survived by her husband of 58 years and best friend Vincent Beiter, daughter and son in law Kelly and Kevin Krupski, and son and daughter in law Kyle and Krista Beiter. She also lives on as the spunky Grandma of Olivia, feisty Grammy of Holly, helpful Grandma of Drew, and thoughtful Grandma of Emily (adjectives chosen by her grandchildren).
    Born 9/19/38 in Buffalo New York to Leroy and Helen (Janke) Tomm, Gail worked her way through Buffalo State College to become an Elementary Teacher, shaping  the lives of many during her 34 year career in the Tonawanda Central School system, retiring in 1996. She spent her retirement enjoying her family and lunching with her "lucky ladies" retired teacher friends.
    A celebration of her life will be held at New York Beer Project, 6933 S. Transit Road, Lockport on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, the day before her 81st birthday, from 5pm to 8pm. Friends and family are invited to honor her life, well lived. There will be no prior visitation.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Make-a-Wish Foundation or Salem United Church of Christ, Tonawanda, NY.  Online Condolences at www.pruddenandkandt.com.

    CAMBRIA - A Pendleton
    man was critically injured
    Monday afternoon when the car
    he was driving and a dump
    truck driven by his son, Earl,
    collided at Campbell Blvd. and
    Lockport Rd.
    Vincent L. Beiter, 77. of 5379
    Tonawanda Creek Rd. was
    listed in critical condition this
    morning at Sisters Hospital in
    Buffalo where he was transferred
    after being treated at
    Lockport Memorial Hospital.
    He is the father of Pendleton
    Supervisor Raymond A. Beiter.
    Niagara County Sheriffs
    deputies said Mr. Beiter suffered
    four broken ribs, a head
    injury, facial lacerations, a
    possible concussion and a
    punctured lung.
    Deputy Karl E. Griffin said
    Earl V. Beiter, 45, of 5040
    Mapleton Rd., Pendleton,
    driving a Niagara County Highway
    Dept. dump truck, escaped
    injury in the 3:52 p.m. collision.
    Deputy Griffin said the dump
    truck, loaded with crushed stone
    for a highway project in the
    area, was northbound on
    Campbell Blvd.
    The deputy said the Beiter
    car slowed down for the
    flashing red stop light on Lock-
    port Rd. and then proceeded
    westward through the in-
    tersection and was struck
    broadside by the dump truck.

    died Sunday at Sisters of
    Charity Hospital, Buffalo, of
    injuries suffered in a two vehicle
    accident June 7.
    A native of Pendleton, he was
    born March 10, 1894, the son
    of Casper and Francis Donner
    Beiter. He had been a selfemployed
    carpenter, here, most
    of his life.
    Mr. Beiter had been injured
    June 7 when the car he was
    driving and a Niagara County
    Highway Dept. dump truck
    driven by his son, Earl, collided
    at Campbell Blvd. and Lockport
    Rd.
    Niagara County Sheriffs
    Deputy Karl Griffin said the
    son, Earl V. 45, of 5049
    M a p 1 e t o n Rd., Pendleton,
    escaped injury.
    Deputies said the westbound
    car was struck broadside by the
    northbound dump truck, loaded
    with crushed stone for a highway
    project in the area.
    The elder Mr. Beiter was a
    World War I veteran and a
    former member of the Wendleville
    Fire Co.
    He was a member of the
    Wendleville Exempt Firemen
    and Benevolent Assn., the Holy
    Name Society of Good Sheperd
    Church, here, the Alfred Jurek
    Post 1672, American Legion, the
    Pendleton Senior Citizens Club,
    the Old Guard in Lockport and
    the Pendleton Democratic Club.
    Besides his two sons, he is
    s u r v i v e d by his widow,
    Elizabeth A. Windnagle Beiter;
    three other sons, Anthony J. of
    Freeport, Pa., Vincent J. and
    Joseph G. of Pendleton; three
    daughters, Mrs. William
    (Arlene) Goerss of St. Louis,

    Friends may call from 2 to
    4:30 and from 7 to 9 p.m. at
    the Gaul Funeral Home Inc.,
    263 East Ave., where services
    will be held at 10:15 a.m.,
    Wednesday and at 11 a.m. from
    Good Shepherd Church.
    The Rosary will be recited at
    8:30 p.m., tomorrow. Burial will
    be in Good Shepherd Cemetery.

    St. Mary's Church in Lancaster
    by the Rev. Hoehn,
    the pair will review their
    vows Saturday, June 6. This
    will be during a 5 p.m. Mass
    to be celebrated at Good
    Shepherd Church, Pendleton.

    A retired carpenter contractor,
    Mr. Beiter was born
    March 10, 1894 in the Town
    of Pendleton, the son of
    Frances Donner and Casper
    Beiter. A native of Clarence,
    Mrs. Beiter is the daughter
    of Amelia Witnauer and
    George Windnagle.
    The parents of nine, Mr.
    and Mrs. Beiter have six
    sons and three daughters.
    They are: Anthony of New
    Kensington', Pa.; Raymond
    of Pendleton, town supervisor;
    Earl, also of Pendleton;
    Mrs. William (Arlene) Goerss,
    Chesterfield, Mo.; Arnold
    of Amherst; Mrs. Stanley
    (Elizabeth) Swogier,
    Pendleton; Mrs. Lester
    (Rita) Spoth, Amherst; Vincent
    Jr., Pendleton; and Jo-
    seph, also of Pendleton.
    They have 33 grandchildren-
    and two great - grandchildren.
    Mr. and Mrs. Beiter are
    members of Good Shepherd
    Church, where Mr. Beiter
    belongs to the Holy Name
    Society. Also, he is a member
    of American Legion
    Post 1672 and the exempt
    unit of Wendelville Fire Co.
    During World War I Mr.
    Beiter served overseas in
    France. All of their sons
    have served overseas.

    Tomm - Leroy E. Tomm, of 235 William St., Tonawanda, died Monday morning (Dec 18, 1961) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Tonawanda and was employed by S. B. Whistler and Sons of Buffalo as an accountant. He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ and the Niagara hose Company. Survivors include his wife Helen (Janke) Tomm; two daughters, Mrs. Vincent (Gail) Beiter of Pendleton and Judith A. Tomm of Tonawanda; a sister Mrs. Clyde (Isabelle) Schuster of Niagara Falls and two brothers Charles F. of Sanborn and LaVern M. Tomm of Tonawanda.
