    Notes:

Our little corner of the world is going to be a different place without Josephine Campbell in it.  Jo passed away December 26, 2019 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home.  After 95 years of home, family and the Catholic faith being the center of her life, she has moved on to her just reward….. her first class “kitchen in the sky”.
Jo is remembered fondly for her enviable home-packed school lunches, family reunion cherry squares, packages of frozen pierogies in the mail and loaves of nutroll rising by the kitchen heater.  And who could forget her potato salad!
Josephine was born August 11, 1924, the oldest child of six to Martin and Ann Johnson.   Her loving husband, Len preceded her in death as well as brothers, Bob and John, sisters, Gladys and Carol and a grandson, Jackson.  Jo is survived by her loving family, children, Bud (Linda) Campbell of TN; Barb (Tony) Scirto of Cambria; Sherry (Richard) Blackstock of CO; David (Gail) and Marty (Amanda) Campbell of Niagara Falls; brother, Mart of PA; ten grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Jo was a hard working homemaker, the ultimate stay-at-home Mom raising five children.  Besides cooking, she loved sewing, gardening, camping and kitty cats.  Outside of the home, she worked at Carbide, Eddie Fisher’s Restaurant and Niagara Catholic High School.  She was proud of her volunteer activities such as Prince of Peace Church Clubs and writing penpal letters during WW II.  Her last years at OLP were spent with loving caregivers who she adopted into her family. She was Jo Jo.. the dancer, who loved her sweets and was a challenge every day.  She was known as a practical joker till the last days of her life.
Visitation will be held Thursday January 2, 2020 from 4-7 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where prayers will be said Friday 9:30 AM following by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John de LaSalle RC Church.  The interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence.
