W. Charles Kirk, 69, of 817
Ninth St. died Monday (July
26, 1965) at home after a short
illness. He was a retired expediter
for the Carborundum
Co., retiring in 1961, after 47
years service.
Born in this city, he was assistant
secretary of the Retired
Men's Service Club; and
volunteer worker for the
American 'Red Cross and
Easter Seals Campaign. Mr.
Kirk was a member of the 20
Year Bonded Abrasives Club
of Carborundum; a former
"manager of the year" in the
501 Bowling League; and a
member of the First Presbyterian
Church.
Survivors include his wife,
Mrs. Margurite Buckle Kirk;
two sons, Boyne K. Kirk and
Hobart J. Kirk, both of this
city; and a daughter, Mrs.
Robert G. (Betty) Green,
Youngstown. A son, George
B. Kirk, was killed in Europe
during World War II and another
son, William C. Kirk
Jr., died in 1952. He is also
survived by a daughter-inlaw,
Mrs. Grace Kirk, Newfane.
Two brothers, James H.
Kirk, and a sister, Miss Elizabeth
L. Kirk, this city, also
survive, along with 14 grand*
children.
Funeral services will be
held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at
the Gridley Funeral Home
with Rev. John D. Shackelford,
associate pastor of First
Presbyterian Church, officiating.
