    Ronald Shatzel of Niagara Falls, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 after a brief illness. He was 72. He was born in Buffalo on May 30, 1947, a son of the late Richard and Marion (Haley) Shatzel. Ron attended Buffalo schools and then entered the United States Army in 1966 at the age of 19, serving his country proudly until his honorable discharge in 1968 at which point he served in the Reserves until 1972.
    Ron was involved in his family’s business, Ace Hobby Shop, for 70 years and still owned and operated the business until the time of his passing. Ron was a loving husband, father and grandfather, loved going to Las Vegas but his greatest joy was his time with his family and his many, many friends.
    He is survived by his loving wife Linda (Stevens) Shatzel and four children: Belinda (Tim) Hunt, Jerry (Keri) Sweatman, Audrey (Kevin) Huff and Annette (Tyson Highway) Sweatman. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Tyler and Maggie Highway, Timothy, Melissa and Kevin Huff, Heather and Melinda Hunt, Christopher Stevens, Destiny Spina, Alyssa Noel-Sweatman, Anthony and Mia Heller and Wyatt and Summer Sweatman, his brother Richard (Carol) Shatzel and 4 great-grandchildren.
    Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Wednesday, January 8 from noon to 4:30 followed by a memorial service at St. Vincent de Paul Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls. Burial will be private.  Flowers gratefully declined and donations may be made to Ace Hobby Shop, 3019 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls, New York 14303.

    Erma C (Frantz) Stevens, lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2018. She was 91.  She was born in Niagara Falls on February 18, 1927, a daughter of the late Harold and Bessie Ann (Benjamin) Frantz.  She attended local schools and then married and raised her family.
    Erma was a loving lady who enjoyed sitting on her bench outside her home and interacting with the people passing by but her greatest joy was her time with her family.
    She is survived by 9 children: Bessie Ann (Gary) Losel, Daniel Stevens, Linda (Ron) Shatzel, Michael (Wendy) Stevens, James (Lisa) Stevens, Gerald (Sue) Stevens, Stanley (Karen) Wills, Tracey (Tom) Maloney and Michael (Ruth Paonessa) Reagle and many grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Harold (late Debbie) Stevens and her three brothers, Calvin, Wilbur and Harold Frantz.
    Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Tuesday from 3-7 P.M. where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 A.M. followed by burial in Oakwood Cemetery in Niagara Falls.

    Paul R, Swank, of Zion Lutheran
    Church, o f f i c i a t i n g.
    Burial will be in Oakwood
    Cemetery.
