    Life story

    William A. Shirback, 76, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on January 10, 2020.  Born on December 1, 1943 in Lewiston, NY, he was the son of the late John A. Shirback, Sr. and the late Eleanor Corlena (Willis) Shirback.

    Bill, as he was known, was a longtime area resident and graduate Lewiston-Porter High School, however, he and his longtime partner of 40 years, Gail, owned and operated a tree farm and firewood business in Canada.  Locally Bill was employed as a laborer for various factories and later in life worked security for several businesses.  He proudly served in the United States Navy from June 29, 1961 until his honorable discharge on December 22, 1964.

    In addition to is partner, Gail (Stickland) Oster, Bill is survived by children, Amanda, Renee, Dione, Todd, Kristen and Robin; and grandchildren.  Survivors also include, siblings, John (Wretha) Shirback, Jr., Carol (Jim) Crowley, Nancy (late Robert) Stockham, Patricia (late Daniel) Nicholls, Dennis (Pamela) Shirback and Mark (Tina Tusa) Shirback and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by a brother, Perry (late Dorothy) Shirback.

    Prayer services at 1:30 p. m. tomorrow
    at the Lane Funeral home
    and funeral services at 2_ p. m. at
    the First Christian church will be
    held for Mrs. Mary C. Willis, 57,
    of 1119 Pasadena avenue, who was
    stricken fatally while attending a
    church meeting in Buffalo on Saturday.
    The Rev. Jesse J. Simoson, minister
    of the First Christian church, will
    conduct the services. Mrs. Willis was
    an active worker in that church and
    in the Women's Benefit association
    at the church.
    She was a native of Buffalo but
    had lived in Niagara Falls most of
    her life.
    Surviving are her husband, Perry
    L. Willis, Sr.; three daughters, Mrs.
    Jackson Zimmerman and Miss Alice
    Willis, both this city, and Mrs. John
    Shirback, .Ransomville; a son. Perry
    L. Willis, Jr.: two sisters, Mrs. Richard
    Willis, this city, and Mrs. Gerald
    McCollum, Ransomville; three
    brothers, Alexander and Arthur Bratt,
    this city, and Leonard Bratt, Saltsville,
    Va. She is also survived by several
    nieces and nephews and 16 grandchildren.
    Burial will be in North Ridge
    cemetery.

    A pretty wedding was solemnized
    at four o'clock Weelnesday afternoon at
    the parsonage of t h e Church of Christ,
    when Miss Mary Corlena Bradt,
    J daughter of Mr. Leonard Bradt, was
    united in marriage to Mr.. Perry Willis
    by the Rev. Ira L. Parvin. The bride
    wore a suit of blue silk poplin, and a
    white picture hat, and her bridesmaid,
    Miss Saah McCracken, was gowned in
    a blue serge suit with hat to match.
    The groom was attended by his broth-
    er,, Mr. Leslie Willis. A dinner was
    served following the ceremony at the
    home of the groom's mother, and cov-
    ers wre laid for twelve. Mr. and Mrs.
    Willis left for a two weeks trip
    through Canada, and after July 4th will
    be at home at 535 Thirtieth street.
