Ellen L. Goerss (Vossen), 83, of North Tonawanda, Sunday (January 26, 2020). Mrs. Goerss was Born in North Tonawanda on August 14, 1936 to Albert and Violet (Getty)Vossen. She was the former manager and sales clerk of Mesmer's Dairy, and the former Matron at the North Tonawanda Police Department. In her spare time she enjoyed crafting and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ellen was predeceased by her husband Dennis W. Goerss who died July 23, 2001.
Ellen is survived by her children Debbie (Tom) McIntyre, David (Melody), Dennis A. (Wendy), Daren (Sheila) and Allen (Lori) Goerss, sister of Judy (the late George) Pankow, grandmother of Robbie, Shannon, and Rebecca McIvor, Nicole (Dan) Haroon, Stephanie (Brian) Krempa, Lindsay (Dan Molina) Rapp, Justin (LeAnne) Goerss, Robbie (Stacey), Desiree, Christian, and Caitlyn, Ryan Annunziato, and Hayleigh Goerss, great grandmother of Tristan, Nova, Archer, Evangeline, Aiden, Harmony, Isabella, Alexander, Connor, Lucas, Robbie, Owen, and Violet, also Surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Wilmer C. Goerss, 56, of 1301 Pierce Ave., died Tuesday in his home after a long illness. He was a life long resident of the area and for 26 years was a proprietor of a dairy in North Tonawanda. He was a member of Friedens Church. Surviving are his wife Cora, nee Boyer; four sons, Merrit, Rochester; Kenneth, North Tonawanda; Eugene and Dennis at home; a daughter, Mrs. Walter N. Arenz, Kenmore; three grandchildren; four brothers, Ezra and Gerhardt, North Tonawanda; Waldemar, Cleveland; the Rev. Daniel Goerss, Pittsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Gust Reichert, North Tonawanda; Mrs. Edwin Wendt, Niagara Falls. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the residence. The Rev. Carl E. Berges will officiate. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Park.

Cora E. (nee Boyer) Goerss, 91, of North Tonawanda, Sunday (March 9, 1986) at North Gate Manor Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, ahe was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ and the Women's Fellowship of the church. Wife of the late Wilmer C. Goerss and mother of the late Merrit Goerss.
Mrs. Goerss is survived by three sons, Eugene (Margaret) Goerss and Dennis (Ellen) Goerss, both of North Tonawanda, Kenneth Goerss of the Town of Tonawanda; one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Marie) Burtch of North Tonawanda; two sisters, Mrs. Lavina Wagner of North Tonawanda and Mrs. Amanda Wolgast of Lockport. Grandmother of eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Monday and Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wattengel Funeral Home, Inc., 307 Oliver St., North Tonawanda. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Friedens United Church of Christ, the Rev Thomas E. Hardy officiating. Interment White Chapel Memorial Park. William F. Goerss, 78 years old, died early this morning at his home, Shawnee road, town of Wheatfield, after a prolonged illness. Born in the town of Wheatfield, he had resided there all his life with the exception of 15 years, which he spent in the town of Pendleton. He resided on the farm in Pendleton now occupied by Acacia cemetery. He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran church on the Niagara Falls boulevard. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Gustav Reichert, Wheatfield, and Mrs. Edwin J. Wendt, North Tonawanda; seven sons, Arthur A. Wheatfield; Rev. Richard W., Nagercoil, India, Ezra C., Wilmer C., and Gerhard, North Tonawanda, Rev. Daniel F., Pitcairn, Pa., and Wallemar (sic) A., Cleveland; 27 grandchildren and a sister. Mrs. William Ferchen, Bergholz. Services will be held Thursady afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence and at 2:30 o'clock from St. Paul's church, Rev. F. A. Hinners officiating. Burial will be in Elmlawn.

Boyer, 84, Sour Home road, town of
Pendleton, who died at 1 o'clock
Sunday morning after a long illness,
will be held Tuesday afternoon at
2 o'clock at the home. The Rev.
Karl Kindt, pastor of St. Paul's
Evangelical Lutheran church, Wendelville,
will officiate. Burial will
be in Bear Ridge cemetery.
Mr. Boyer was born Aug. 20, 1856,
in the town of Pendleton and lived
there practically all his life. He
leaves three sons, John, Seymour
and Norman Boyer, all of Lockport;
and three daughters, Mrs. Howard
Wolgast, town of Amherst; Mrs.
Wilmer- Goerss, Tonawanda and
Mrs. Charles Wagner, town of Pendleton;
also 12 grandchildren.

William Vossen. 44 years old, died Friday
at his home, 323 Sweeney street,
after a brief Illness with pneumonia.
Born in Sassenkein. Holland, he had
lived in North Tonawanda for the past
year, coming here from Canada.
Surviving are a wife, Vida; two sons,
William E. and Albert J., and two
daughters, the Misses Vida and Catherine
Vossen.
The funeral will be held Monday afternoon
at 1:30 o'clock at the residence.

church will officiate and burial
will be at Fonthill, Ont.
