    Notes:

    David P. Birmingham  of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, NY.  He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 18, 1942, the son of the late Joseph and Letitia [Gawley] Birmingham.
    Mr. Birmingham graduated from Trott Vocational High School and served with the US Army.
    He was a police officer with the Niagara Falls Police Department for 20 years, retiring in 1986 and later became a postal supervisor with the US POSTAL Service for the next 18 years.
    He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and attending all their sporting events, talking politics. He loved Niagara Falls and the drive from Lewiston to Youngstown along River Road.

    Mr. Birmingham is survived by his wife Elizabeth [Balys] Birmingham, one son Justin (Jill) Birmingham, two grandsons Tyler and Eli, a sister Joann Ryan and two nephews Patrick (Jackie) and William (Amy) Ryan.

    He was the brother of the late Michael Birmingham.

    His family will be present on Saturday from 3-6 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, where Funeral Services followed Military Honors will be held at 6:00 PM, with the Rev. Matthew Kofahl officiating.
    Memorials may be made in his name to Niagara PAL.

    The funeral of Patrick Birmingham,

    father of Captain William Birmingham,
    of the Falls fire department;
    and a resident of Niagara Falls for 40
    years, was held yesterday morning
    from St, Mary's church, with Interment
    In Riverdale cemetery. The
    bearers were Timothy Crotty, Joseph
    Crowe, Edward Kennedy, John R.
    Barron, Leo Tevens and Charles Mahoney,
    all members of the fire department.
    Mr. Birmingham died Monday in
    Mt St. Mary's hospital of a complication
    of diseases. He was 65 years
    old and resided at 336 Sixth street. For
    25 years he was engineer at the Cataract
    Consumers' brewery and also
    was engineer at Mt. St. Mary's hoe:
    pital, retiring six years ago.
    Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary
    Burmingham, and six children, William,
    John, Frank, Edward, Joseph
    and Teresa, all of this city; two
    grandchildren and three sisters, Elizabeth,
    in Ireland, and Mrs. Anna Higgins
    and Mrs. Clyde Swartz, of this
    city, and two brothers, Joseph Birmingham,
    this city, and Thomas Birmingham,
    of Buffalo.

    Mrs Mary Birmingham, of 336
    Sixth street, resident of this city
    for the last 42 years, died early this
    morning in Mount Sst. Mary's hos-
    pital after a lengthy illness. She
    was 77 years old.
    Born in Germany, Mrs. Birming-
    ham came to the United states at
    an early age and was the wife of
    the late Patrick Birmingham of
    this city.
    Surviving are five sons, John L.,
    Frank N., Edward P., William N.
    and Joseph D. Birmingham, a
    daughter, Theresa M. Birmingham
    and four grandchildren, all of this
    city. William and Joseph Birming-
    ham are members of the Niagara
    Falls fire department.
    Funeral services will be held
    Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the
    Beatty funeral home, Main street
    at Chilton avenue, and at 9 a.m. in
    St. Mary's church. Burial will be in
    Gate of Heaven cemetery.
