Jim was born in Newfane, NY on July 23, 1949, the son of the late Robert and Shirley Barry Conlin. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. Jim retired from Modern Disposal, was a past member of Olcott Fire Co. and he was an avid NY Yankees. He enjoyed hunting, sport shooting and spending time with his grandchildren. Father of Chris Claude of Newfane, NY and Keri Collins of Lockport, NY. Grandfather of Emily Claude, Cody Pierce and Chase Collins. Brother of Yvonne Preisch. Deborah R. (Van Horn) Conlin of Newfane, NY wife of James Conlin entered into rest on Sunday March 20, 2016 at Buffalo General Medical Center. She was born on November 11, 1951 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late William and Mary (Kraft) Van Horn. Deborah worked in the office at Newfane Rehabilitation and Heath Care Center. She enjoyed playing bingo and doing crafts. Deborah loved and enjoyed her family and her dog sidekick Sadie. Surviving include her children Christopher Claude of Wrights Corners and Keri (Patrick Barnum) Collins of Newfane. Brothers William (Jane) Van Horn of Florida, Dennis (Donna) Van Horn of North Carolina and Rodney (Anita) Van Horn of Montana; a sister Sharen (Gordon) Haseley of Lockport. Proud grandmother of Emily Claude, Cody Pierce and Chase Collins. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends and Family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday March 26, 2016 at 11 AM at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home Inc. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY 14108. Bob served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as a foreman for the Niagara County Parks Dept and was past president in the Olcott Fire CO. Bob enjoyed hunting and farming. Father of James (late Debbie) Conlin and Yvonne (late Robert) Preisch. Brother of the late Harry and Jim Conlin. Grandfather of Erica Preisch and the late Jonah Preisch. NEWFANE -
William C. Van Horn of Newfane, husband of the late Mary Helen Kraft Van Horn, entered into rest on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Odd Fellow and Rebekah Health Care Facility. William was born on January 24, 1922 in Plumville, PA, the son of the late Robert Lee and Mary E. Brown Van Horn.
William married the love of his life, Mary, on May 17, 1946. They were married for 67 years. Helen passed away on August 23, 2013. After graduation from high school, he joined the Army Air Corps in 1940. He was a Staff Sergeant and in charge of the transportation units. He was at Hickam Field in Hawaii during WWII and was a Pearl Harbor Survivor. William also served over seas in France and Germany. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He shot his last deer in his 70's, hunting with his grandsons. Fishing was his greatest love. He would fish in the spring and catch rainbow trout and bring some to his doctor who loved them. During high school, he played basketball and received a few medals for doing so. He was employed at Hooker Chemical (now Oxy) in Niagara Falls, NY for 30 years, retiring in 1976 for health reasons. He and his wife spent many years living in Ocala, FL during the winter months.
William was the sole surviving member of his family. He was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters, and six step-brothers and step-sisters. Father of William E. (Jane) Van Horn of Florida, Sharen L. (Gorden) Haseley of Lockport, Dennis E. (Donna) Van Horn of North Carolina, Deborah R. (James) Conlin of Newfane, Rodney R. (Anita) Van Horn of Montana and the late infant son, Jeffery Leroy. Also survived by eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
No prior visitation. A graveside service will be held in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, 5871 Military Rd., Lewiston, NY 14092 on THURSDAY at 11 AM.

LOCKPORT — Mary Helen Van Horn, of Lockport, wife of William Van Horn, entered into rest on Friday, August 23, 2013, at the Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport, NY. Mary was born on November 4, 1925 in Kane, PA, daughter of the late Charles and Pearl Besecker Kraft.

Mary retired from Carborundum in Niagara Falls as a machine operator. She enjoyed gardening, bingo, crafts, fishing, camping, watching sports, bird watching and spending time with her family.

Mother of William (Jane) Van Horn of Florida, Sharen (Gordon) Haseley of Lockport, Dennis (Donna) Van Horn of North Carolina, Deborah (James) Conlin of Newfane, Rodney (Anita) Van Horn of Montana, and the late Jeffrey Van Horn. Sister of Winnie Cecchetti of Kane, PA and the late Jane, Charles, Raymond, Shirley, John, William and Thomas Kraft. She has 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

No prior visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Walter Ransom Barry, of Wilson,
N. Y.. an employe of the Niagara
County Highway department, died
early today in Mt. St. Mary's hospital
here after a short illness. Mr.
Barry was a native of Ransomvllle
and was 46 years old. Funeral
services will be held in the family
home in Wilcox street, Wilson,
Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock
with the Rev. Mr. Lucas, of the
Wilson Methodist church, officiating.
Burial will be made in
the North Ridge cemetery.
Mr. Barry is survived, by his wife,
Mrs. Angeline McCormick Barry;
three daughters, Mrs. Howard Allen
and the Misses Shirley and
Helen Barry, and a grandson, all
of Wilson.
