    Benjamin G. Haseley, a former materials handling foreman for Kimberly-Clark Corp. in Niagara Falls, died Tuesday (June 19, 1990) at his home on Bowen Drive, North Tonawanda, after a short illness.
    Haseley, 82, was a native of Niagara Falls, where he had lived on Hyde Park Boulevard until moving to North Tonawanda in 1978. He retired in 1970 after 35 years with Kimberly-Clark.
    Survivors include his wife, the former Violet Bartz; two sons, Richard B. of Cortland, OH, and Gerald K. of North Tonawanda; a sister, Ella Luick of Niagara Falls, and four grandchildren.
    Services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Friday in St. Paul Calvary Lutheran Church, 1665 Cleveland Ave., Niagara Falls. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston

    Violet Haseley, formerly of Niagara Falls and North Tonawanda, died Thursday in Mayfair Village, Columbus, OH. She was 95. Born Violet Bartz in Niagara Falls, she worked at the Niagara Falls Gazette from 1930 until 1942. She was the office manager for Central Anesthesia from 1964 until retiring in 1978.
    Her husband, Benjamin G., died in 1990. She is survived by two sons, Richard B. and Gerald K.
    Services will be held at 7 P.M. Sunday in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave

    Miss Violet Bartz, whose marriage
    to Benjamin Haseley will take place
    Saturday, January 4, was delightfully
    entertained at a variety shower
    given at the home of Mrs. Arthur
    Rlckert, in Seventy-seventh street,
    Thursday evening.
    A delicious luncheon was served at
    a table beautifully aecoratcd in yellow
    and green, being centered with a
    bowl of yellow and white chrysanthemums,
    flanked by Ivory tapers in silver
    holders.
    The guest of honor was presented
    with many beautiful gifts. About 30
    guests were present.

    Miss Violet Bartz and Benjamin
    Haseley, whose wedding will take place
    tomorrow, were guests of honor last
    evening at a dinner dance given by
    employes of the Niagara Falls Gazette
    in The Roslyn, Buffalo avenue.
    Miss Bartz Is an office employe of the
    Gazette company.
    Forty guests attended the affair. A
    steak dinner was served at a long
    table In the main dining room. The
    table was centered with a large bowl
    of red poinsettias, flanked by ivory
    tapers in rock crystal holders. Each
    place was marked by a miniature bride
    and bridegroom. During the dinner
    Miss Bartz and Mr. Haseley were presented
    with a dozen white Wedgewood
    dinner plates with a blue grape design.
    The presentation was made by
    Lyman Chandler, superintendent of
    the Gazette's Job Printing department,
    on behalf of the employes.
    A pleasing feature of the dinner
    was the recognition of the birthday of
    Herbert Cleland, Niagara Falls, Ont..
    one of the guests. While musicians
    played appropriate music, waiters carried
    a large birthday cake, graced by
    lighted candles, to Mr. Cleland's place
    at the table. After the guests had
    congratulated Mr. Cleland he made a
    short speech of appreciation.
    Artistic containers of confetti were
    at each place and, while musicians
    played the Lohengrin wedding march,
    the guests showered Miss Bartz and
    Mr. Haseley with confetti. Dancing
    followed the dinner. Among the out
    of town guests were Miss Marion
    Abend, Syracuse.

    Adeline M. Astalos, 84, entered into rest under the care of North Gate Health Care Facility on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late John and Helen (nee Reszel) Rosinski; sister of the late Arthur and Alfonso Rosinski; and loving wife of the late George E. Astalos. Adeline enjoyed taking care of her family, playing cards, gardening and reading. Adeline is survived by her eldest daughter, Susan (Arnold) McCleese; son, Paul Astalos; and daughter, Joan (James) Bujalski; grandchildren, Nicole (Chris) Haseley, Michael McCleese, Jonathan Bujalski and Lauren McCleese; great grandchild, Ella Marie Haseley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, November 12, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Colucci Funeral Home, 652 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda (692-4917). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa R.C. Church, 64 Center Avenue, North Tonawanda. Family and friends are invited to meet at 8:45 AM Thursday morning. Interment services will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
