    SOOS - Robert A. Aged 81, of The Villages, FL (formerly of North Tonawanda and Sanborn) died June 10, 2017 after a long illness. He was born June 11, 1935 in North Tonawanda, NY, the son of the late Albert S. and Bertha (Wysko) Soos, and moved to The Villages, FL in 2001. He retired in 1992 as founder, President and C.E.O. of the Driskel and Soos Mfg. Co., and President and C.E.O. of the Shaft-O-Matic Corp. of Tonawanda, NY. He is a member of Hope Lutheran Church, The Villages. He was an avid golfer and horseshoe player as well as a loving grandpa. Mr. Soos is survived by his wife, Charlene (Laur) Soos; two sons, Mark R. Soos and Michael W. (Katrina) Soos, a daughter, Pamela Soos; a sister, Patricia Neuman; eight step-children, Donald A. (Karen Sinon) Lauer, Daniel A. (Heather) Lauer, Douglas A. (Denise) Lauer, James (Suzette) Vlaovich, John Vlaovich, Julie (James) Schwartzmyer, Jodi Minor and Jeffrey Vlaovich; 20 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Lori Meisenburg. Memorial services will be conducted at Chula Vista Rec Center by Rev. Bob Knepel on June 23 at 11 AM. Private burial to be in the National Cemetery in Bushnell.

    Robert married BUNN, Sheila Mae on 27 Jul 1957 in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY, and was divorced on 14 Jul 1970 in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY. Sheila was born on 24 Aug 1938 in New York; died on 30 Mar 2012 in New Port Richey, Pasco County, FL. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Sheila was a loving wife to Pat for over 40 years. She was a wonderful mother to Mark Soos , Pam Soos, and Mike Soos (Katrina), who will miss her dearly. She will be sadly missed by her step children, Pat Rago III, Michelle Bagley, Mike Rago, and Joann Rago. She is also Grandmother to 12, Jon (Hayley), Tony, Kristen, Nick, Michelle, Kaitlin, Sherri, Brandon, Jamie, Charles, Hailey, and Austin. Great-Grandmother of 2, Tyler and Valerie.

    Sheila was a volunteer at Northbay Hospital in New Port Richey for many years. She has many friends in the area. Formerly of Dunedin (Honeymoon Island Mobil Home Park) and Eustis, FL. She was originally from Western New York, where she met her husband Pat in 1969.

    She was a ardent NASCAR fan and Jeff Gorden was her all-time favorite.

    In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hernando-Pasco Hospice(HPH) or The American Cancer Society. Thank you very much to all the wonderful people at Hospice.

    Service will be held at Dobie’s Funeral Home, 6616 Congress Street
    New Port Richey, FL 34653 Wed. April 4th at 3PM. All friends are welcome.
