Alan Thomas Argy, 75, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2020 at Our Lady Of Peace Health Care Facility. Born on June 13, 1944 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Charles and Helen (Stivers) Argy.
Alan attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Bishop Duffy High School. Alan received his degree in Education from Niagara University. He married Colleen (Lunney) Argy in November of 1978.
He taught for a short time at St. Teresa’s School and also worked at Ulbrich’s Store at Summit Park Mall as an Assistant Manager. Alan retired from Niagara Falls Coachlines, where he had worked for over 30 years.
Alan was active with the Boy Scouts his whole life. He worked at various Boy Scout camps run by the Greater Niagara Frontier Council. The camps included Northern Lights in Ontario, Camp TYE, and Camp Scouthaven. He worked with several troops, most recently Troop 841 at St. John de LaSalle. He helped many young men on their journey to become an Eagle Scout.
Alan loved the outdoors, camping and canoeing, traveling often to Ontario with family and friends to Algonquin Provincial Park to camp and canoe.
In addition to his wife of 41 years, Alan is survived by two children, Karen (Michael) Naus and Patrick Argy (Shanelle Abramowski); three grandchildren, Emerson and Isabelle Naus and Nolan Argy; his brother Charles (Becky) Argy, nephew Michael Argy (Saul Reyes), niece Renee (Shawn) Sullivan, and 3 great nephews, Patrick, Ryan, and Liam Sullivan. He was predeceased by his nephew, Robert Argy.
The family would like to thank the outstanding staff at Our Lady of Peace on 3W, 1W and 1E for their wonderful care and compassion shown to Alan.
There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at a future date to be announced.
