    Notes:

    Roy (Chip) Clarence Rutherford Jr. was reunited with his wife Mary Ann Rutherford on July 23, 2023 after a brave battle with cancer, surrounded by his children. Chip was born to Doris (Read) Rutherford and Roy Clarence Rutherford Sr. He was one of 13 siblings Evelyn Carpenter, Margaret (George) Davis, John Rutherford, Paul Rutherford Sr., Ann (David) Cain, Judy (John) Willis, Gail Rutherford, Susannah Homesberger, Wanda (Al) Townsend, Glenn Rutherford, Kirk (Janeen) Rutherford, Scott Rutherford.
    Chip and Maryann were married on December 23, 1977 and raised 6 children together including Joe (Nichole) Brandt, Penelope Salter, Teresa Alvine, Renee (Vito) Andriaccio, Rhonda Rutherford and Roy “Moose” Rutherford III. They shared 14 grandchildren, Andrew Payne, Tuesday Goodband, Cody Brandt, Ryan Rutherford, Ukari Mulkey, Nickolas Brandt, Joseph Brandt Jr., Dakota Rumschik, Reese Rutherford, Peyton Brandt, Rylee Rutherford, Austin Rumschik, Jayden Rutherford, Elise Andriaccio and 9 great grandchildren.
    Chip was a Paratrooper and a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army, 1st Air Cavalry, from 1967-1969 and served in the Vietnam War. He was the recipient of the Silver Star Award and 3 Purple Hearts. Chip spent his life as an over the road truck driver and working in construction as the owner of R and R Construction.
    Chip was well-known in the stock car and super truck racing circuits as “White Lightnin” #2 and raced at Lancaster, Perry and Genesee Speedways and in the Figure 8 and demolition derbies. He was the patriarch of his family and was a “go to” guy to many, many more. He was quick witted, with a carefree personality and outspoken attitude. Chip always had a joke and a nickname for everyone.
    A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 29th at 2 PM in Roy's backyard, 6030 Crosby Road, Lockport.  Inurnment with his wife Maryann will be in the Western NY National Cemetery with Military Honors.  Online Condolences at www.pruddenandkandt.com.

    Obituary of Mary Ann Rutherford

    Mary Ann "Mona" Rutherford passed away on June 22, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by her family under Hospice care. 
    Mary Ann was born in 1951 to Theresa and  the late John Brandt Sr.  She was the eldest of her 8 siblings, John (Robin Wittcop) Brandt Jr., Susan (George) Hale, Nancy (Duane) Bartlett, Cynthia (John Otto) Webb, and the late Barbara (late Ralph) Sharrow, Jean (Tony) Dagonese, and James (Melissa) Brandt.  
    Mary Ann was married to Roy "Chip" Rutherford for 45 years and they raised 6 children together, Joseph (Nichole) Brandt, Penelope Salter, Teresa Alvine, Rhonda Rumschik, Renee (Vito) Andriacco & Roy "Moose" Rutherford III.  The family home was the hub of activity for her children and their friends while they were growing up. Consequently she was "mom" to more than just her children. 
    Mary Ann was blessed with 14 grandchildren Tuesday Goodband, Andrew Payne, Cody Brandt, Ukari Mulkey, Ryan Rutherford, Nickolas Brandt, Joseph Brandt Jr., Dakota Rumschik, Reese Rutherford, Peyton Brandt, Rylee Rutherford, Austin Rumschik, Jayden Rutherford and Elise Andriacco and 4 great grandchildren.   She was also Aunt, Sister in Law, Cousin and Friend to many more who loved her dearly. 
    Mary Ann was full of life with a big personality.  She was retired from Harrison Radiator and nothing filled her heart with more joy than spending time with her family, her “puppers” Rusty, Chico, K.C. and Fluffers, loud country music and a good laugh. 
    The family is planning a private service to celebrate her life.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Niagara Hospice. Arrangements are being handled by Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home.

    The rectory of St. Mary's Church
    was the scene of the marriage of
    Theresa Marie Schaler.
    daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J o hn
    Schafer, to John Fredrick Brandt,
    son of Fredrick Brandt of the Irish
    Road, Wilson. The Rev. Albert Winter,
    pastor of the church, was the
    officiating clergyman.
    For the ceremony the bride wore
    a gown of white satin fashioned In
    princess Unas with a cathedral
    trail! The square neckline was
    trimmed with seed pearls and the
    long sleeves came to points over
    the hands. Her finger-tip veil of illusion
    was caught to a coronet of
    forget-me-nots, and she wore a double
    strand of pearls. Her bouquet
    was fashioned of white gladioli tied
    with white satin streamers.
    Mrs. Williard Schultz. sister at
    the groom, was matron of honor.
    She selected a gown of pink marquisette
    over pink satin with
    m a t c h i n g coronet, and carried
    white gladioli tied with pink satin
    ribbon.
    Robert Schafer. brother of the
    bride, was best man. Mrs. Schafer,
    mother of the bride, was gowned
    In an aqua s i l k crepe ensemble
    with white accessories and a
    shoulder corsage of talisman roses.
    A reception to 150 guests followed
    at the home of the bride's parents
    with a three-tier wedding cake centering
    the bridal table. Out-of-town
    guests attended from Buffalo, North
    Tonawanda, Ransom vllle and Wilson.
    For her wedding trip the bride
    changed to a grey crepe dress with
    white accessories and yellow rose
    corsage. Upon their return Mr. and
    Mrs. Brandt will make their home
    in Lockport.

    a retired farmer, died Thursday
    at Newfane Nursing Home after
    a lengthy illness.
    Born April 14, 1899 in the
    Town of Cambria, he was the
    son of John T. and Martha
    (Koeppen) Brandt. Before his
    retirement, he had operated a
    farm at the Irish Road address
    for most of his life.
    He was the husband of the
    late Gladys (Sherman) Brandt,
    who died in 1936.
    Surviving are a daughter and
    son, Mrs. Willard (Martha)
    Schultz of Wilson and John F.
    Brandt of Appleton; also nine
    grandchildren and three great
    - grandchildren.
    Friends may call at the
    Hamilton & Clark Funeral
    Chapel, here, where the family
    will be present from 2 to 4 and
    7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services
    will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday
    from the funeral home. The
    Rev. Mason Crites, pastor of
    North Ridge United Methodist
    Church, will officiate.
    Burial will be in North Ridge
    Cemetery.

    Gladys Brandt, 30. wife of Frederick
    Brandt, died suddenly this morning
    at her home in t h e I r i s h rorid. Mrs.
    Brandt is survived by her husband'
    and one daughter. Martha Brandt,
    and one son. John Brandt, both at
    home, and her p a r e n t s . Mr. „and Mrs.
    Bird Sherman, of East Wilson, and
    several brothers. Mrs. B r a n d t was
    a active member of t h e East Wilson
    Methodist Episcopal church and was
    one of t h e mast popular of t he
    younger women of this community.
    The funeral plans have not been completed.
    She was b o r n here and had
    resided here all h e r life.
