    Frank P. Taibi, 94, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on September 9, 2020 at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Angelo and Angeline (Cannizzaro) Taibi.
    Frank attended local schools.  He was drafted into the United States Army in 1944 during World War II, serving as a Master Sergeant in the 9th Signal Company in Germany, France and Belgium until his honorable discharge in 1946.   Upon returning from Europe, he worked as an Electrician affiliated with IBEW Local #237. On September 10, 1949, he married Mary Elizabeth (Paonessa) at St. Joseph’s Church in Niagara Falls, NY. 
    In 1951, he joined his brothers as a partner in Taibi Brothers Heating and Fuel Oil.  In 1954, he established Niagara Concrete Products, Inc., which he operated until 1984, supplying concrete to the Niagara Power Project, Thruway Systems throughout the Great Lakes, the Lewiston Queenston Bridge and Niagara Falls Convention Center, among many others. In 1984, he earned his Real Estate Sales License and established Taibi Real Estate.  In 1996, he consulted for Niagara Falls Redevelopment, LLC. working there until 2002, at which time he privately pursued real estate development in Niagara Falls.
    Frank was awarded the Hometown Hero Award in 1998, and received the Special Recognition Award from the Niagara Falls Area Chamber of Commerce in the same year.  He enjoyed golfing, and was a member of Niagara Frontier Country Club for over 40 years.  He loved playing Hearts at the Como with his friends, and walking the neighborhood, feeding the neighborhood dogs.  Frank will be remembered as a big thinker, an eternal optimist, a problem solver, a social connector, but above all, the quintessential family man.
    In addition to his wife of 71 years, Frank is survived by his daughters, Marilyn (James) Sorge, Kathy Ruggiero, Beverly Taibi, and Maryanne (Peter) Genovese; his grandchildren, Kenneth (Deana) Ruggiero, Jr., Kevin (Kristin) Ruggiero, Kristian (Meghan) Ruggiero, James (Kelsey) Sorge, Mary (D.J.) Chapman, Peter Genovese and Frank Genovese; his great grandchildren, Tea, Livia, Derick, Justin, and Aiden Ruggiero, and Jack and Thomas Sorge, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was the beloved brother in law of Dominic (Janet) Paonessa and the late Michael (Esther) Paonessa.  He was predeceased by his brothers, Anthony (late Barbara) Taibi, Angelo (late Marlene) Taibi, James (late Lucy) Taibi, and his infant brother Francesco Taibi.
    Private funeral services will be held for the family.  Entombment with Military Honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 or to Mount St. Mary’s Palliative Care, 5300 Military Road, Lewiston, NY 14092.  Arrangements by M.J.
