Ronald Duane Richards, entered into rest on September 25, 2020 at age 72.  Survived by beloved wife, Catherine (nee Shearer) Richards, son Jeffery (Andrea) Richards, step-daughter Heather (Kevin) Zastrocky, sister Judy (late Ronald) Branch as well as grandchildren, Clara, Isla, Henry, Naveen and Neera Richards, Eloise and June Zastrocky.  Predeceased by son, Ronald D. Richards, Jr as well as daughter-in-law, Madhvi (Phadtare) Richards.  He was the son of the late Duane H. and Jean E. Richards.
He was a Vietnam veteran having served with the Navy Construction Battalion (SeaBees) as a Construction Electrician from 1968-1972. He also was a member of Navy Seabee Veterans of America, Island X-8 and the B.P.O. Elks, Lockport Lodge #41.
Ron retired from Harrison Radiator in Lockport in 1997 after 30 years service, and proceeded to use his aluminum and steel welding and fabrication expertise for several local firms, finally semi-retiring in 2018.  He also was an avid fan of anything that was powerful or fast…motorcycles, cars, trucks, tractors, having owned more than his share of Hi-Performance Chevelles, Camaros, and several Kawasaki motorcycles.  Family and friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC 2670 Main Street Newfane, NY WEDNESDAY 3-7PM. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria, NY. Memorials to Niagara Hospice or the American Heart Association would be appreciated by family.

Duane + CARRIGAN, Jean E. Jean (daughter of CARRIGAN, James and Pearl) was born on 25 Jul 1924; died on 23 Aug 2018 in Lockport, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Jean E. Richards (Carrigan) age 94,entered into rest on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Lockport Rehab & Health Care Facility. Born on July 25, 1924 the daughter of James and Pearl Carrigan. Jean was a graduate of Wilson Central Schools. She married the late Duane “Joe” Richards and together they were members of the Warrens Corners Methodist Church, The Road Runners and the Elks of Lockport. Jean worked at the Felt Mill in Newfane and later at the Newfane Nursing Home. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Together with Joe she enjoyed traveling all over the world, other interests include knitting, quilting and playing cards. She has a competitiveness about her, in which she enjoyed race walking with her friends. Jean was known for her elderberry pies, Texas sheet cake and suet pudding.
Jean is survived by her daughter Judy (late Ronald) Branch and her son Ronald (Catherine) Richards; grandmother of Jodie (Mike) Jeffery, Jeffrey (Andrea) Richards, Sandra (Rich) Williams the late Ronald Jr. (late Madhvi) Richards and Heather (Kevin) Zastrocky. She is survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jean later in life found joy with her canine companion Boston Terrier Bailee Jo.
