    Jane E. Garis (nee Werth) age 82, of Niagara Falls, died October 10, 2020 at her home, under the care of Niagara Hospice. She had worked as a secretary for the Carborundum Company and served as secretary of the Niagara Falls Junior Football Club. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and served on the Altar Guild, as a Greeter and as a Sunday School Teacher. She was the daughter of the late Wallace and Nina (Poerschke) Werth.
    She was the wife of the late Robert J. Garis who died in 2004. Beloved mother of Daniel (Cathy Sullivan) Garis of Niagara Falls, Michael (Erin) Garis of North Carolina and Karin Garis of Niagara Falls. Grandmother of Matthew and Hannah Garis and Rachel Kemp. Sister of John (Cathy) Werth and Norene (Victor) Mazylewski, aunt of several nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Tuesday 4 -7 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:30 A.M., the Rev. Kenneth Craig will officiate, interment in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery. If so desired memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

    NORTH TONAWANDA - Mrs. Emma Kruger Werth, 90, of 40 Washington St., died Thursday (July 16, 1970) at De Graff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of this city, she was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She is survived by two sons, Norman K. and Wallace E. Werth; three daughters, Miss Hilda Werth and Mrs. Evelyn Hoffman, all of this city, and Mrs. Henry Stange of the Town of Wheatfield, 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Friends may call today and until 1 p.m. Sunday at the Fretthold Funeral Home. Services will be conducted in St. Mark Lutheran Church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Clarence W. Rabe will officiate. Burial.will be in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery

    A family dinner was held at the
    Park Manor when the Rev. and Mrs.
    Paul Fretthold were among the
    guests. Following the dinner. 150
    guests assembled at the Bergholtz
    firehall.
    The marriage look place Novem-
    ber 11, 1900 at St. Paul's Lutheran
    church with the late Rev. Mr. Lautz
    officiating. The attendants were Mr.
    and mrs. Edward Holland, Mrs.
    William Wurl and william Stange.
    Mrs. Werth was the former Emma
    Krueger. Before retiring in 1944
    Mr. Werth had worked 14-1/2 years
    for the National Grinding Wheel
    company and 14-1/2 years for the
    Carborundum company.
    They have six children, Mrs.
    Henry Stange, Miss Hilda Werth,
    mrs. Kenneth Hoffman, Mrs. John
    Culver, Mrs. Norman K. Werth and
    Wallace Werth.
    The grandchildren are James,
    Richard and William Werth, Boyd
    and Sherril Hoffman and Darryl
    and Karen Culver
    The table was decorated with
    flowers and a tiered wedding cake.
    Mr. and Mrs. Werth received many
    beautiful gifts.

    NORTH TONAWANDA - William Poerschke, 86, formerly of the Lutheran Church Home in Buffalo, died Thursday (Oct. 2 1969) in- Deaconess Hospital in Buffalo.; A resident of this city for one the last 73 years, he was formerly employed by the Aircraft Co. for 11 years and was a member of, St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Mr. Poerschke is survived by a son, Harold E. Poerschke of the Town of Pendleton; two daughters, Mrs. Wallace (Nina) Werth and Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Rockett, both of this city, and a brother, Rudolph Poerschke of Indian Falls, N.Y. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will.be conducted at 2. p.m. Sunday at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. The Rev. A. W. Moldenhauer will officiate;. Burial will be in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. p.m. at the funeral home.

    POERSCHKE - Agnes A. Poerschke, 65, died Wednesday morning Dec. 30, 1953 in Deaconess Hospital. Mrs. Poerschke is survived by her husband, William and was the mother of Mrs. Paul Ferchen, Bergholtz; Harold, Mrs. Wallace Werth and Mrs. Robert Rockett. Seven grandchildren also survive. All are from North Tonawanda. A brother, Edward Fehrman, and sister, Mrs. William Proefrock, also survive. Funeral services will be at2:30 p.m. Sunday from the family residence, 522 Prospect Ave. The Rev. Paul H. Gassmann will officiate. Interment in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery.
