    Obituary of Charles Robert Perry
    Charles Robert Perry of Middleport, faithfully and peacefully concluded his earthly life and stepped into eternity on his 94th birthday, November 1, 2020 at his home with his family by his side. Charles was of man of quiet faith and service to God, his family, his country and his community.He was born on November 1, 1926, the oldest son of Robert and Mildred (Buehring) Perry and lived in Middleport his entire life. After graduating from Royalton-Hartland Central School in 1945, he served in the US Army for 18 months in Germany. After returning home he attended Bryant and Stratton Business School and began a career at Harrison Radiator as a statistician where he worked for 37 years, retiring in 1987. In 1950 he married Marjorie Manley and they were blessed to celebrate their 70th anniversary on May 27, 2020. He built their home in Middleport in 1956 and resided there his whole life. He was an active member of County Line United Methodist Church and Cataract Lodge #295 F&AM where he helped with fish fries for many years. He is survived by his wife, Marge, his daughters, Susan and Jane, six grandchildren: Ben (Susan) Atwater, Stephen (Amanda) Phillips, Adam (Hannah) Atwater, Denise Phillips, Alicia (Bob) White, Seth (Renee) Atwater and ten great-grandchildren: Marissa, Camden, Adeline, Lydia, Bailie, Elise, Nolan, Lincoln, Grant and Ashlyn. Also survived by his brother, Donald Perry and many nieces, nephews and cousins who have provided love and support over the years. He was pre-deceased by sons-in-law, Richard Atwater and Timothy Phillips, also his sister, Phyllis. There will be calling hours on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Bates, Wallace Funeral Home at 38 State Street in Middleport with a Masonic service at 7:45 that evening. Masks and social distancing is required and will be enforced. A service for family members only will be held at County Line United Methodist Church at 11:00 on Thursday.The family is sincerely grateful for Hospice of Niagara, Liz, Allie and Michaella, their aids who provided loving and professional care making it possible for Charles to remain at home.Memorials may be made to County Line Country Church, PO Box 202, Barker, NY 14012, to Hospice of Niagara or a charity of one’s choice.     Marjorie Manley Perry of Middleport, NY, went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2023. Born on November 13, 1929, she was the daughter of Edna Hare Manley and Homer Jerome Manley.

    Marge married the late Charles Robert Perry on May 27, 1950, with whom she celebrated 70 years of marriage before he passed away on his 94th birthday on November 1, 2020. She and Chuck built their home in Middleport where she still resided. She was a lifetime member of County Line Country Church where she played the piano until her passing and also worked in women's and children's ministries. She was a member of Eastern Star and participated in several community musicals, with music being a great passion of hers. Her main joy was being a housewife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to bake and often shared with family and neighbors. Visiting shut-ins and sending cards was a priority and she loved being with people, especially her family. Her singing phone calls on birthdays will be greatly missed by her family as well as her chocolate cake.

    Surviving are daughters Susan (late Richard) Atwater and Jane (late Timothy) Phillips. Also surviving is brother-in-law Donald Perry, grandchildren Benjamin (Susan) Atwater, Stephen (Amanda) Phillips, Adam (Hannah) Atwater, Denise Phillips, Alicia (Robert) White, Seth (Renee) Atwater, great-grandchildren Marissa, Bailie, Adeline, Camden, Ashlyn Elise, Lydia, Nolan, Lincoln, Grant and Winston. Also, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, all of whom she kept close in her heart. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary (Arthur) Porter and a great-grandchild, Richard. Their kindness and helpfulness of her neighbors is greatly appreciated by her family. They mowed her lawn, fed the birds, brought food, and even rescued her from her fall. We are forever grateful for them.

    Calling hours will be at County Line Country Church 1385 County Line Rd. Lyndonville, NY 14098 from 10:00-12:00 on Monday, September 4th, with the funeral to follow At 12:00. Interment at Hartland Cemetery will be held Tuesday at 2:30pm

    Marge’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home of Middleport, NY.

    Area Woman Dies at 84
    MIDDLEPORT - Mrs. Amelia (Haseley) Buehring, 84, formerly of Haseley Road, Wolcottsville died Saturday night (Feb. 19, 1966) at Mount View Hospital, Lockport, where she had been a patient for two days. She was born July 15, 1881 in the Town of Niagara, daughter of John and Fredericka Wolfe Haseley. She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville and a lifelong resident of this area. Her husband Charles F. Buehring died in 1937. Surviving are four daughters Mrs. Frank (Leona) Giertz, Lockport; Mrs. Erich J. (Irene) Haseley, Niagara Falls; Mrs, Robert (Lillian) Perry, Middleport; and Mrs. Albert (Carrie) Harvey, Lockport; 10 grandchildren, and 28 greatgrandchildren. Friends may call today and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wallace and Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St. Middleport, and Tuesdav from 1 to 2 pm. at St. Michael's Church, Wolcottsville. Services will be held at St. Michael's at 2 pm. Tuesday. Rev. Hilbert Huth. pastor, will officiate Burial will be in. St. Michael's Cemetery.
