    Gertrude, wife of Roland Helwlg, passed away at her home on the Coomer Road, Sunday evening,'Feb. 18, 1923, at the age of 24 years. She leaves besides her husband her father and mother, Mr.and Mrs. Bird Sherman, five brothers and one sister, John of Cambria, Adelbert of Niagara Falls. Clair of Lockport. Floyd of Newfane, Edwin athome, and Gladys Brandt of Wilson.Funeral services will be held from the late home Tuesday, at 2 p. m. Burial at Wright's Corners cemetery.

    Funeral services for Bird Sherman, a well known farmer, of Willow road, who died in his home early Sunday morning after an illness of several weeks, was held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Hamilton's funeral home, in Wilson. The Rev.Winifred Pcro. pastor of the local Methodist Episcopal church, officiated. Interment was in the North Ridge cemetery.Mr. Sherman was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Perry Sherman. He is survived by four sons. John, of the Canal road. North Tonawanda; Clair and Edward, both of Lockport and Floyd, of Newfane, and a number of grandchildren.The bearers were Louis Swirk Howard Bend' Fred Schultz. Merle Tower and John Miller.

    One of the oldest residents of Niagara Falls died last night in the person of Mrs. Mary Frances Schurr,87 years old, whose death occurred at the home of her son, Frank Schurr, 2906 Pine avenue. She was the widow of Christian Schurr, a veteran of the Civil War and former member of the Wilson post of the Grand Army of the Reublic.
    Mrs. Schurr was born in Newfane in 1849. She came to Niagara Falls in 1918 and resided at 640 Thirtieth street until a year ago. Surviving her are three sons, Fred Schurr of Wilson, Frank Schurr of this city, and Willis Schurr of Gowanda; two daughters ,Mrs. Bird Sherman and Frank Frank Haner of Wilson and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Brandt of Newfane and Mrs. Jennie Richle of Detroit. Fourteen grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren also survive.
    Funeral services will be held at her son's home at 3 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Dr. Sylvanus S. Davies, pastor of St. Paul's M.E.church, officiating. Burial will be in North Ridge cemetery.
