Obituary of Gerald R. Porter
(Gasport) Gerald R. Porter age 81 passed away in peace on November 22, 2020. He was born September 26, 1939 in Lockport, the third son of the late Raymond and Minerva (Baldwin) Porter.Gerald was a loyal GM retiree and spent time enjoying woodworking, tractor restoration and farming. He was a member of the John Deere Two Cylinder Club. Gerald was a Boy Scout Leader for several years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, boating, riding his motorcycle and traveling. Gerald joined his wife Marge; his oldest son Gerry; great-grandson Gerry; brothers Ron, Kenneth, Robert (Judy). He is survived by his son James (Susie) Porter; his daughter Deborah (Michael) Horton; step-daughters Sandy (Terry) Lund, Terri (Steve) Keenan; 18 grandchildren; a tribe of great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law Nella Porter as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.His Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday November 25th at 11:00am at Quaker Road United Methodist Church, 2800 Quaker Rd., Gasport NY 14067. Interment in Cold Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the organization of one’s choice. Gerald’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, Gasport. New York State requires those in attendance to adhere to the social distancing guidelines and face coverings are mandatory.

The marriage of Minerva Baldwin,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond
Baldwin of the Hartland road, and
Raymond Porter, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Porter of this place, was
solemnized on Thursday, Feb. 31, at
4 p. m , in the Hartland Baptist parsonage
at Johnson's Creek. Rev.
Chester A. Willis performed the
ceremony in the presence of the
bride's sister and Mr. Willis, son of
Rev. Willis. The bride wore blue
crepe.
Mr. and Mrs. Porter left on a
short motor trip and are now residing
in Wilson where Mr. Porter is
employed.

tine Baldwin, 66, of McNalls
Road, died here T u e s d ay
(June 20, 1961).
Mrs. Baldwin was born in
Lancaster, N.Y., Feb. 20, 1895,
daughter of the late. Mr. and
Mrs. Martin Suttell. A Gasport
resident the last 40 years,
she was a member of the ladles
auxiliary of the Terry's
Corners Fire Department and
Pocohontas Lodge.
Survivors include her husband,
Raymond Baldwin; five
daughters, Mrs. Irma Seiler,
Lockport, Mrs. Eleanor Zastrow,
North Tonawanda, Mrs.
Ruth Zastrow, Mrs. Minerva
Porter and Mrs. Gertrude
Dettmer. all Gasport; A son,
Raymond Baldwin Jr., Gasport;
two sisters. Mrs. Alex
Heigh, Buffalo, and Mrs. Gertrude
Kalkins, Barker; 20
grandchildren and 25 great
grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2
p.m. Friday at Bream Funeral
Home. Rev. Norman Douglas,
of Hartland Methodist Church
will officiate. Burial will be
in Hartland Central Cemetery.
