    Age 93, a lifelong resident of the City of Tonawanda, died suddenly on Saturday, November 21, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Elwyn Charles Warner, DDS; loving mother of Richard (Linda) Warner, Ellen (late Robert) Church, Wendy (Dennis) Nebelecky, Robert (Paula) Warner, DDS, Beth (George) Breuhaus, Virginia (Michael) Chatelle, and John (Michelle) Warner; grandmother of Jennifer (Scott) Thomas, Katie (Matthew) Hollenbach, Victoria Church, Jeremy Nebelecky, Alexandra, Benjamin (Sherin), and Andrew Warner, Jessica and Sara Breuhaus, Jonathan (fiance Tara), Justin, and Jordan Chatelle, Logan and Carlie Warner; great-grandmother of Scott and Jayson Thomas and one great-grandchild expected soon; daughter of the late Roy M. Helf, Sr. and Irene (nee Hemple) Helf; sister of the late Roy M. "Bus" (late Dorothy) Helf, Jr.; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Due to the current covid pandemic, a private service and interment will be held by the family. A public Celebration of Life will be held at a future date and time to be announced. Mary Lou was a 1944 graduate of Tonawanda High School and a 1948 graduate of Syracuse University. She was a member of Grove Street Christian Church in the City of Tonawanda, and was a member of the Historical Society of the Tonawandas.     Rites will be held tomorrow
    afternoon st 4 o'clock from the
    late residence for Dr. Clarence A.
    Warner, who was found dead in
    his home at 374 Adam street early
    last evening. He was found lying
    on the bed in his room, a high
    powered rifle beside the body.
    Dr. H. C Fairbanks, was called
    and announced that death occurred
    several hours before the body
    was discovered.
    Dr. Warner had been in poor
    health for several years and cancelled

    all engagements yesterday.
    During his prolonged illness, he
    had been in almost constant
    pain, it was stated today.
    He and members Of his family had
    been staying at their summer
    home on East River road, Grand
    Island, and no one waa at the
    Adam street address when death
    came to the popular dentist.
    Dr. Warner was born in Strykersville,
    N. Y. Upon his graduation
    from the University of Buffalo
    33 years ago he came to Tonawanda
    to practice, locating in the
    Litzenberg block on Niagara street
    where his offices were located at
    the time of his death.
    One of the most distinguished
    and best liked citizens of the Tonawandas,
    Dr. Warner was active
    in all types of civic and welfare
    organizations, during his long residence
    here.
    He was a former president of
    the Tonawanda Board of Education,
    from which he resigned a
    year ago because of poor health.
    He was a member of the Rotary
    club of which he was a past presided.
    He was also a member of
    Tonawanda Lodge, No. 247, F. &
    A. M., the Buffalo Consistory, Ismailia
    Temple, the Niagara Hose
    Company, the Eighth District Dental
    Society, the American Dental
    Association and the Dental Society
    of the State of New York.
    His Survivors,
    Dr. Warner is survived by his
    wife, Lulu M.; two daughters,
    Jane and Virginia; a son, Elwyn,
    and a brother, M. C; Warner, Buffalo.
    Rev. Clarence A. Hanna of the
    First Church of Christ will conduct
    the services.

    Mrs. Lulu M. Warner, mother of
    Tonawanda Board of Education
    President Virginia Sentz and the late
    Dr. Elwyn C. Warner, a Tonawanda
    dentist and former school board president,
    died today at Grand Island Manor
    after a long illness.
    The 91-year-old Mrs. Warner was the
    wife of Dr. Clarence A. Warner, who
    died in 1937.
    Besides Mrs. Sentz and another
    daughter, Mrs. John O. Roth of Tonawanda,
    Mrs. Warner is survived by 10
    Tgrandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    Services will be conducted
    Sunday.

    p.m. Saturday at John O. Roth
    Funeral Home, Morgan and
    William Streets, Tonawanda,
    where services will be
    conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday by
    the Rev. Edward J. Trauscht.
    Burial will be in Elmlawn
    Cemetery.

    Miss Lulu M. Rech, daughter of
    Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rech of 445
    Niagara street, was united in marri-
    age this morning at 10 o'clock to Dr.
    C. A. Warner. Miss Geneva Rech was
    bridesmaid and Mr. M. C. Warner,
    brother of the groom, acted as best
    man. The ceremony was performed
    by the Rev. G. Sherman Burrows in
    the presence of the families of the
    principals. Dinner was served at 2
    o'clock. Among the wedding guests
    present were Mr. and Mrs. E. A. War-
    ner and Mr. M. C. Warner of Stryk-
    ersville and Miss Florence Hutchings
    of Olean; Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Rech,
    Messrs. Fred and Grover Rech, Misses
    Geneva and Margaret Rech and Mrs.
    Kohler, the grandmother of the bride,
    Dr. and Mrs. Warner left for a
    short wedding trip to his former
    home at Strykersville. They will be
    at home at 41 South Niagara street
    after January 6.

    TONAWANDA. Aug. 18.-Charles
    W. Rech. 74, father of Fire Chief
    Grover Rech. died shortly before noon
    today at his home, 447 Niagara street.
    He was born In the town of Amherst
    and came to Tonawanda, with his
    parents, when a small boy and had
    resided here ever since. His father,
    Christian Rech, opened a general
    store on the site now occupied by the
    Tonawanda city hall when the city
    was only a small hamlet.
    Mr. Rech was one of the oldest
    volunteer firemen in the Tonawandas.
    He first became a member of
    the Fire Department when the De-
    Oraff Hose company, one of the first
    fire companies organized here came
    Into existence nearly 60 years ago
    Later he became a charter' member
    of tho Niagara Hose company and In
    1879 was awarded a gold medal for
    responding to the greatest number of
    fire Alarms during that year.
    Ho also served a.s a tax commissioner
    for A number of years. Ho was
    enticed In the grocery business And
    later in the wholesale and retail
    liquor business, retiring when prohibition
    came into effect in 1918.
    He is survived by two sons. Fred
    and Grover: three daughters, Mrs.
    O. A Warner and Mrs. Genevieve
    Hedegen. All of Tonawanda. and Mrs.
    H. M. Karcher. of Oswego; 18 grandchildren
    and one sister, Mrs. Mary
    Rose, of Tonawanda. The funeral arrangements
    have not been completed

    Charles W. Rech, one of the best
    known residents of the Tonawandas,
    died shortly after 10 o'clock
    this morning at his home, 447 Niagara
    street. He had been in failing
    health for some time but it
    was only a few days ago that his
    condition became alarming.
    Mr. Rech was born on the Fries
    road, town of Amherst, - 74 years
    ago. He came to Tonawanda with
    his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs.
    Christian Rech, when a small boy
    and had resided here since. Tonawanda
    was only a small village
    when he and his family located
    here. His father opened a general
    store on the site of what is nowthe
    Tonawanda city hall.
    One of Oldest Volunteer Firemen.
    Mr. Rech was one of the oldest
    volunteer firemen in the Tonawandas.
    He was a member of the De-
    Graff Hose company, one of the
    first fire organizations promoted
    here. When the company was disbanded
    he became a charter member
    of the Niagara Hose company,
    one of the four fire units now in
    Tonawanda. As a volunteer fireman
    he won a solid gold medal in
    1879 for answering the greatest
    number of calls for fires. As a
    token of esteem for his efforts as
    a fire fighter he was presented a
    solid silver trumpet, valued at
    $1,549. The gift was made by the
    late E. H. Rogers.
    The deep interest manifested by
    Mr. Rech in the fire departmenhas
    been perpetuated by his son
    C. Grover Rech, who is now chief.
    an office which he has held for
    many years.
    Charter Member of Elks
    Mr- Rech was also a charter
    member of North Tonawanda lodge
    No. 860, B.P.O.E. He also served
    for a number of years as tax col
    lector when Tonawanda was a vii
    lage.
    He was engaged in the grocery
    business and later as a wholesale
    and retail liquor dealer. When
    prohibition went into effect he es
    tablished the bakery which is nowoperated
    by his son, Fred, and Paul
    Scheetz under the name of Rech
    & Scheetz, and retired from bust
    ness.
    Besides two sons, Fred and Gro
    ver, three daughter, Mrs. C. A,
    Warner. Mrs- Genevieve Hedegen,
    all of Tonawanda, and Mrs. H. M.
    Karcher, Oswego: 16 grandchildreli
    and one sister. Mrs. Mary Rose,
    Tonawanda, survive.

    Charles married KOHLER, Emma about 1880. Emma (daughter of KOHLER, David) was born in Mar 1861 in Tonawanda, Erie County, NY; died on 27 Nov 1930 in Tonawanda, Erie County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Mrs. Emma Rech, 69 years old,
    died yesterday at her home, 449
    South Niagara street. She has
    been in failing health for some
    time. Mrs. Rech was a life-long
    resident of Tonawanda. She is
    survived by her husband, Charles
    W. Rech; two sons, Fred A. and
    C. Grover Rech; three daughters,
    Mrs. C. A. Warner, Mrs. E. A.
    Herdegren, all of the Tonawandas,
    and Mrs. H. M. Karcher, Buffalo,
    and 16 grandchildren.
    The funeral will be held Sunday
    afternoon at 2.30 o'clock at the
    residence. Rev. Andrew Hils of
    the. Salem church will conduct the
    services and interment will be at
    Elmlawn.
