    Notes:

    Doris Skivington, former six-term Niagara County Legislator and the first female Majority Leader of the Niagara County Legislator died on December 6, 2020 at Our Lady of Peace Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
    Born Doris Marie Finley on October 21, 1926 in Niagara Falls, New York, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Edna Finley.  She was predeceased by a brother, Paul Finley and her spouse, Howard A. Skivington.   She was the beloved niece of the late Mabel E. Howe.
    Doris is survived by her five loving children: Andrea (Anthony) Troisi, Rebecca (Stephen) Kassay, Noreen Skivington, Janis (Philip) Alterio, and Howard J. (Pamela) Skivington.  She is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Joseph Troisi, Lisa (John) Boag, Jacob (Samantha) Kassay, Jason (Lida) Sykes, Justin Sykes, Jessica (Thomas) O’Kell, Ashley Newbury, Michael Alterio, Brian (Danielle) Alterio, Andrew Alterio, Kristin Szarban, and Amber Skivington. She was predeceased by a grandson, Alexander Kassay.  She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
    She was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School Class of 1944; she also attended Niagara University.   On January 25, 1947, she married Howard A. Skivington at Sacred Heart Church, Niagara Falls, New York.
    Other accomplishments included President of the Pacific Avenue Parent Teacher Association; President of Operation Petticoats and Treasurer of the Democratic City Committee.  She was employed by the Niagara Falls City School District and the New York State Parks Department.  Also, she wrote a school news column for the Niagara Gazette.
    Her family will be present on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.  Private funeral  services will be held at the wishes of her family.
    Interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, New York

    Memorial hospital early this morning
    of pneumonia, with which he
    became ill on Sept. 3. Funeral ser-
    vices will be held from the family
    residence at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with
    the Rev. Arthur H Schmoyer of-
    ficating. Burial will be in Me-
    merial Park cemetery.
    Born In Reynoldsville, Pa., Mr.
    Skivington had lived in this city for
    37 years and for the last 20 years
    had been a moulder at the Niagara
    Foundry. A veteran of the
    World war, he was a member of
    Bellevue Lodge, No. 316, I. O. O. F.;
    of Prospect Encampment, No. 11,
    and of Rosebud Rebekah Lodge, No.
    33.
    Surviving him are his wife, Mrs.
    Anna Skivington; two sons, Howard
    and Richard Skivington; two sisters,
    Mrs. Beatrice McGeachy, of this
    city, and Mrs. J Wallace, of Ran-
    somville and two brothers, William
    A. and Alexander Skivington both
    of this city.
