Gordon, Sr., mother of Warren (Arlene) Gordon, Jr., of Cassadaga, NY., and Mrs. Brian (Linda) Carrigan of North Tonawanda; grandmother of Kelly and Mark Gordon, John Brian, Janeen and Julie Lynn Carrigan. Mrs. Gordon was a lifelong resident of Tonawanda, a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. A life member and past president (1959-60) of Tonawandas Unit 264, American Legion Auxiliary, a member of the Past President's Club of Unit 264, the Niagara County Committee of American Legion Auxiliary, the Tonawanda Homemakers and was vice-chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board. Friends may call Monday 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Hilliard Funeral Home, Inc. 147 Delaware St., Tonawanda. Funeral services from St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1135 Oliver St., North Tonawanda Wednesday at 11 a.m., the Rev. Thomas K. Spahn officiating. Interment St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Church or the Salvation Army. An American Legion Auxiliary Memorial service will be conducted at the Hilliard Funeral Home Tuesday at 7 p.m.

    STRASSBURG – Mrs. Amelia R. Strassburg (nee Mavis), 80, of 90 Felton St., North Tonawanda, Thursday evening (July 12, 1956) at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Warren Gordon of 477 Broad St., Tonawanda after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Frederick C. Strassburg. Also surviving are another daughter, Vera Strassburg; two grandchildren, Warren Jr. and Linda; five sisters, Mrs. Amanda Werth, Mrs. Charles Hildebrandt, Mrs. Gust Demler, Mrs. William Walck and Mrs. Harry Knights, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Frettholf Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Road, where services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 3 in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, the Rev. Paul Fretthold officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery.
