    Morris (Moe) Ziehm went home to be with his Lord & Savior January 16, 2021 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, November 19, 1932, he was the son of the late Grover and Clara Ziehm. Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Yvonne. Children Doris Krom (Tom), Douglas Ziehm (Sharon), Deborah Adams (Christopher), Daniel Ziehm (Lucinda). Grandchildren Stacy Eustice (Benjamin), Dr. Stephanie Krom (fiancé Dr. Gabriel Vachon), Jason and Jennifer Forgue, Laura and Elyssa Adams and Lauren Ziehm. Great grandchild Bryce Eustice. He is also survived by his sister Yvonne Ziehm Bricca. Morris was predeceased by his siblings Doris, Chester and Pearl. He served in the United States Army from 1954-1956. Morris graduated in 1959 from the University of Buffalo School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science , then earned a Master of Science in Engineering from Union College. He was an associate professor of mechanical technology at Illinois Central College from 1968-1974. He then worked as an engineer at GE Large Steam Turbine retiring in 1994 after 29 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and an active member of the church council for many years. Calling hours will be held Friday January 22nd from 3 to 5 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Masks must be worn and all Covid-19 restrictions will be adhered to. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church 153 Nott Terrace, Schenectady. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.     N O R T H TONAWANDA - Grover L. Ziehm, 65, of 6828 Sy Road, Town of Wheatfield, died unexpectedly Monday (Jan. 18, 1965), after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital. Mr. Ziehm was born in Michigan and had resided in Wheatfield the greater part of his life. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholtz. He operated Ziehm's Motel in Niagara Falls Boulevard for about 30 years, retiring in 1964. Prior to operating the motel he was employed by Hooker Electrochemical Corp in Niagara Falls for 27 years, retiring about 10 years ago. Survivors include his widow, the former Clara Ferchen; two sons, Chester G. Ziehm,
    Grand Island, and Maurice A. Ziehm, Schenectady ; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth
    (Pearl) Ward and Mrs. Silvan (Yvonne) Bricca, both of Wheatfield; a brother, William
    Ziehm, Wheatfield; three sisters, Miss Esther Ziehm Buffalo, Mrs. George Martin.
    Wheatfield, and Miss Ariel Ziehm, Tonawanda, and 12 grandchildren. Friends may call at the residence, where a service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, followed by a service at 2:30 in St. James Lutheran Church, Rev. Robert Lehman officiating. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery.

    Retired machinist Norman A. DeVantier, 73, of Washington Street died Thursday (June 1, 1989) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston.
    DeVantier was a native of Niagara Falls and retired in 1980 after a 39-year career at the former National Grinding Wheel County, Niagara Falls.
    He was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bergholz, and the Lutheran Laymen's League.
    Survivors include his wife, the former Erma Schimschack; two daughters, Yvonne Ziehm of Schenectady and Janet Herman of Wheatfield; a son, Kenneth of Wheatfield; a brother, Elmer of Pekin; two sisters, Lydia Mueller and Gladys Milleville, both of the Town of Niagara; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren
    Services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery

    The former Erma Schimschack, 81, was born in Wheatfield and was a lifelong resident.
    Her husband, Norman A., died in 1989.
    Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne Ziehm of Schenectady and Janet Herman of Wheatfield; a son, Kenneth of Wheatfield; a sister, Eunice Heuer; two brothers, Alvin Schimschack and Donald Schimschack of North Tonawanda; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
