    A very lovely summer wedding
    was solemnized at the Calvary
    Lutheran church. McKoon and Vanderbilt
    avenues, June 29, when Miss
    Beverly Joyce Weimer. daughter
    of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Weimer,
    of DeVeaux street, became the bride
    of Mr. Herbert G. Wendt. of this
    city, formerly of Sanborn. N. Y
    and son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
    Arthur Wendt.
    The Rev. Alvin J. Prange. pastor
    of the church, officiated at the double
    ring ceremony at 4 o'clock.
    Mrs. Woodman, organist of St.
    Paul's Evangehcal Lutheran church,
    presided at the organ. Mr. Paul
    Mehls rendered several beautiful selections,
    including "I Lore You
    Truly" and "Because."
    The bride, who entered the church
    on the arm of her father, was lovely
    in her gown of bridal satin made on
    Grecian lines with fitted bodice and
    trimming of real lace framing the
    sweetheart neckline. The extra
    wide circular train was edged with
    real lace and her fingertip illusion
    veil, which dropped gracefully over
    her shoulders, was worn with a halo
    of seeded pearls. She carried a colonial
    bouquet of white rosea, sweet
    peas and baby's breath.*
    Miss Elsie Olson, maid of honor,
    was charming in her gown of blue
    marquisette with lace bodice similar
    to that of the bride and with
    wide bands of lace in the full skirt.
    She carried a colonial bouquet of
    pink roses, carnations and sweet
    peas. She wore a headdress of car-
    nations and rosebuds.
    The bridesmaids were Miss Minnie
    Wendt, sister of the bridegroom,
    who wore a pink marquiette with
    fitted bodise and lace inserts in the
    skirt. She carried a colonial bou-
    quet of rosebuds, carnations and
    sweer peas and a headdress of rose-
    buds and carntions.
    Miss Ruth Schulz wore blue mar-
    quisette with fitted bodice and lace
    inserts in the skirt. She carried a
    colonial bouquet of roses, carna-
    tions and sweet peas and a head-
    dress of roses and carnations.
    Miss Margaret Burke wore a
    peach-color marquisette with fitted
    lace bodice and full skirt. She car-
    ried a colonial bouquet of roses, car-
    Inations and sweet peas and a head-
    dress of rosebuds and carnations.
    Little Miss Delores Wendt. niece
    of the bridegroom, was* very sweet
    as flower girl in her floor-length
    dress of pink net with organdie
    niching at the neck and sleeves.
    She carried a small colonial bouquet
    of rosebuds and baby's breath.
    Mr. Wendt chose as his best man
    Mr. Walter DuBols. His cousin, Mr
    Clarence Kroening. and Mr Ken-
    neth Minnick acted as ushers.
    The altar was beautifully decorated
    with vases of delphinium and
    double mock orange blossoms.
    The mother of the bride chose a
    dress of black chiffon and lace, with
    flesh vest and black accessories, and
    a corsage of pink rosebuds.
    After the ceremony a reception
    was held at the home of the bride,
    where a buffet lunch was served to
    about 150 relatives and friends of
    the young couple.
    Later ir the evening the bride
    and bridegroom left for a short trip
    to New York and vicinity, the bride
    choosing a navy blue two -piece
    dress with white accessories and a
    corsage of gardenias/ Upon their
    return they will reside at 4112 De-
    Veaux street.
    The bride was honored with many
    parties prior to her marriage, including
    a variety shower by Miss Margaret
    Burke, a bedroom shower by
    Mrs. Earl Weimer and Mrs. Edward
    Errlck a personal shower by Mrs.
    Norman Evert, a kitchen shower by-
    Miss Elsie Olson, a variety shower
    by Mr and Mrs. Albert Kroening.
    The girls from the American
    Salesbook company honored her
    with a dinner at the Samovar and
    presented her with a very lovely
    silver tea service.

    WENDT-Suddenly, October 12, 1930, Arthur G., aged 42 years, beloved husband of Minnie Haseley Wendt; father of Ervin, Rinert (sic), Arthur, Herbert, Violet, Minnie; two sisters, Mrs. Philip Pfuhl, Mrs. Louie Haseley, Walmore, N. Y. Funeral services at the family home Wednesday, October 15, at 2 p. m. and at St. Peter's church at Walmore, N. Y., at 2:30 p. m. Interment in Walmore cemetery.

    STRUCK BY CAR, FARMER KILLED NEAR THIS CITY
    Arthur Wendt Suffers Fatal Injuries; Dies Before Hospital Is Reached.
    Hit by an automobile while walking along the Saunders Settlement road at 9:45 p. m. yesterday, Arthur Wendt, farmer, 42 years old, was fatally injured. The automobile was driven by G. M. Krick, 1722 Whitney avenue. Krick told Coroner W. L. Draper, who investigated the accident, that he was driving west and that the glare from headlights of a car approaching in the opposite direction prevented him from seeing Wendt.
    Wendt suffered fractures of the neck; skull, both legs and left arm. He was taken to Memorial hospital, but was dead when he arrived there. Wendt was married and leaves a wife and six children. He had lived practically all his life on the Saunders Settlement road, about midway between this city and Sanborn. Krick was not held after he had made his statement to Coroner Draper and Undersheriff Cowdrick.

    MRS. WENDT DIES
    Sanborn Woman Passes in Hospital after Emergency Operation.
    SANBORN, N. Y. - Mrs. Minnie Wendt, 51, of the Lockport road near Sanborn, died last night in DeGraff Memorial hospital, North Tonawanda. where she underwent an emergency operation on December 23. She was a daughter of the late Ferdinand and Minnie Haseley, of the Town of Niagara, and resided in the Saunders Settlement road, to her Lockport road home ten years ago. She was a member of St. Peter's German Lutheran church, of Walmore. She is survived by four-sons, Ervin, of North Tonawanda; Relnert, of Niagara Falls, and Arthur and Herbert, of Sanborn; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Cvetan and Miss Minnie Wendt, of Sanborn; two brothers, Anthony and Hubert Haseley, of Niagara Palls, and five sisters, Mrs. Fred Fahrnwald, Mrs. Philip Fahrnwald and Mrs. Albert Kroening, of Sanborn, and Mrs. Carl Mllleville and Mrs. Edwin DeVantier, of Niagara Falls. Ten grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held from the family home at 2 p. m. Sunday, with services in St. Peter's church at Walmore at 2:30 p. m., the Rev. Edward A. Grabau officiating. Burial will be in Walmore cemetery.
