    Neil E. Truesdell 93, of Ransomville, husband of Joyce M. (Hillman) Truesdell entered into rest of January 31, 2021 at Niagara Hospice House. Neil was born in Ransomville on July 7, 1927 the son of the late Merton A and Cornelia (Ritter) Truesdell Sr. He has resided in Ransomville all his life where he attended local schools.He served in the Merchant Marines from 1947-1948; on July 22m 1950 he married Joyce Hillman. Neil was employed by Moore Business Forms from 1949-1958. He owned and operated the former True Oil Co for 9 years, he then went on to work as a heavy equipment operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 463 since 1962 for over 30 years.Neil was a former member of the Ransomville Slowpokes and helped on the construction of Ransomville Speedway in 1958. In 1958 he built his own #20 stock car and raced many tracks in the States and Canada. He sold his #20 in 1967 and drove for other owners until 1972. Neil was a 59 year member of the Ransomville Vol. Fire Co.; the Ransomville Exempts, former member of the Niagara Count Fire Police and a member of the American Legion O. Leo Curtiss Post # 463 Ransomville.He is survive by his wife of 70 years Joyce; his children Richard (Barbara McHenry) Truesdell, Linda (John) O’Connor and Paul (Judy) Truesdell; grandchildren Sabrina (Greg) Berdzik, Carrie Truesdell, Matthew (Madelyn Fasano) Truesdell, Andrea O’Connor, Sara O’Connor and Leah Truesdell; great grandchildren Skylar O’Connor, Henry Berdzik, Tice Fasano and Roman Truesdell; a special niece Julie Willis and former daughter in-law Sheila Price.Neil was predeceased by his brothers Merton Truesdell Jr. and Harold Truesdell and a sister Edna (Willis) Seyler. A special Thank You to Jodie Neadow for the kind and love care she took of Neil.Funeral Services will be private. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery.
