    NIAGARA FALLS - Frederick L. Goltz, age 68, of Niagara Falls, was called to his heavenly home on March 16, 2014, at his residence, while under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice. Born in Lockport, NY on May 8, 1945, he was the son of the late Robert and Phylis (Townsend) Goltz. Fred graduated from North Tonawanda High School, Niagara County Community College and Niagara University. He was employed at the Carborundum Company- Coated Abrasives Division in Wheatfield, and later as an Early Intervention Case Manager with the Niagara County Health Department, until his retirement. Fred served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, earning the rank of Sergeant and received the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. Fred enjoyed doing small engine repairs and was known by many as "Lawnmower Man". He also enjoyed fishing, writing poems, loved his family of cats, was a NY Yankees fan, and was the author and published "Avery's Way", a suspense novel.

    Survivors include his wife, Karen (DuBois) Goltz. They were united in marriage on September 4, 1965; four children, Hao (Lan) Phan of Seattle, WA, Tung (Hong) Ngo of Niagara Falls, Thao (Anh) Tran of San Jose, CA, and Heather (fiancee William Day) Goltz of Niagara Falls; six grandchildren, Sara, Emily, Joshua, Kayla, Gracie and Henry; a brother, R. Richard (Ann) Goltz of Tonawanda; two sisters, Dianne (Walt) Beyer of St. Augustine, FL and Pam (Adam) Briones of Colorado Springs, CO; two brothers-in-law, Curtis (Kathy) DuBois and Robert DuBois; and several nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME (731-3234), 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Thursday from 3-7 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Philip N. Sallach on Friday at 11:00 AM in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Luther Street in Bergholz. Interment will follow with military honors in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

    Walter E. DuBois, age 90, of Niagara Falls, was called to his heavenly home to be with our Lord and Savior, after a brief illness, on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at his residence, with his loving family by his side. Born October 23, 1918 to the late Albert and Christine (Ferchen) DuBois. He attended LaSalle High School and worked on the family farm for many years. Walter later was employed as a plumber with Camann Plumbing and Heating in Wheatfield for 35 years, until his retirement, after which he spent many hours helping out at the DuBois Funeral Home. He was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, where he was a former elder and trustee for many years. Walter enjoyed bowling on the Bergholz Bowling League for 20 years, enjoyed gardening, woodworking and spending quality time with his dear grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Survivors include his beloved wife, Minnie (Wendt) DuBois; they were united in marriage July 10, 1943; thee children, Karen (Fred) Goltz of Niagara Falls, Robert DuBois of Wheatfield and Curtis (Kathy) DuBois of Niagara Falls; nine grandchildren, Hao, Tim, Heather, Thao, April, Marci, Julie, Bill and Paul; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.     NIAGARA FALLS — Minnie L. DuBois (Wendt), age 89, of Niagara Falls, was called to her heavenly home, peacefully, on Thursday, October 20, 2011 to be with our Lord and Savior, at her residence, with her loving family by her bedside and under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on August 12, 1922 to the late Arthur and Minnie (Haseley) Wendt. She was employed at the former International Paper Company in Niagara Falls for several years. Minnie was united in marriage to Walter E. DuBois on July 10, 1943, and they were married 65 years when Walter entered into rest on March 25, 2009. In 1944 she was stricken with polio and with everything she endured, she held on to her strong faith in God and was a loving and devoted wife and mother, raising three children. Minnie was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, in Bergholz, enjoyed making crafts, playing cards and dominoes, cooking, baking and spending time with her family and friends. She was also predeceased by a sister, Violet Cvetan and three brothers, Ervin, Reinert and Arthur Wendt.

    Survivors include her three children, Karen (Frederick) Goltz of Niagara Falls, Robert DuBois of Bergholz and Curtis (Kathy) DuBois of Niagara Falls; a brother, Herbert (Leaner) Wendt of Avon Park, FL; nine grandchildren, Hao, Tim, Heather, Thao, April, Marci, Julie, Bill and Paul; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz), in Wheatfield, on Saturday from 4-8 PM and Sunday noon- 2 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Philip N. Sallach on Sunday at 4:00 PM in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Luther Street, in Bergholz. Interment in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, the March of Dimes or Niagara Hospice.
