Obituary of Peter James Foster
Peter James Foster, retired veteran, and airline pilot took his last flight from his residence in St. Cloud Florida on October 07, 2020. Born on July 7, 1938, to the late James E. and Dorothea Lillian Hannel Foster, grandson of Roy P and Ruth C. Foster and Charles C. and Lillian. Hannel.Peter was a Life Scout BSA Troop 29 of Youngstown, NY, a senior Deacon, DeMolay in Ransomville, NY. He was a graduate of Lewiston-Porter class of 1955, graduate of Buffalo State Teachers College class of 1961 and graduate of University of Buffalo class of 1967. He was a resident of Niagara County, Osceola County, FL and many others. Mr. Foster enlisted in the U.S Navy and retired from the U.S Army. He was a 54 plus year life member of the America Legion Post # 381 in Niagara Falls, NY. His civilian employments include Old Fort Niagara, Philmount Boy Scout Ranch, International Paper Co., Niagara Co. Community College, a former teacher at Starpoint and Niagara Wheatfield CSDs, a pilot with Niagara Helicopters Ltd. Kent Helicopters, Prior Aviation and Heussler Helicopters, also Mohawk, Alleghany, and U.S Airlines with he retired from.Peter is survived by his wife Judy (Gail) Foster of FL, daughter Linda Ann (Christopher) Beach, Stepdaughters Cindy Guffy and Peggy Coker, brothers J. Keith (Becky) of WV and William C. (Julia) of FL.A graveside service will take place at 11:00 Am on Saturday August 07, 2021, at the family plot in Dickersonville Cemetery, Ridge Road, Town of Lewiston. MRS HANNEL DIES AT 77
Mrs Lillian M. Hannel of 370 Spruce Ave., a resident of this city for 55 years, died Wednesday (Dec. 18, 1963) after a long illness. Mrs. Hannel was a native of North Tonawanda. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Until about 15 years ago, she and her husband, Charles C. Hannel, operated the well known Hannel's Restaurant in Third Street. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Henry, of Lewiston, and Mrs. James (Dorthea) Foster, of Ransomville; a brother, William Muller, of Havre, Mont.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Gridley Funeral Home. Rev. Paul R. Swank, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call al the funeral home from 2:30 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m

Mrs. Rose Hannel Died Early Today
Funeral of Beloved Pioneer Resident Will Be Held Friday
Mrs. Rose Hannel, one of the pioneer residents of the north end of the city, passed away this morning. She was born, March 11, 1852, at Rodelstadt, Germany, and attained the age of 71 years. Coming to Niagara Falls at an early age, she was married to Alexander J. Hannel of Alsace Lorraine, France, who died early in life, at the age of 40 in the year 1856. There were nine children, seven of whom are at present residents of Niagara Falls: Mrs. Jacob Kelberer, Mrs. Chester Collard, Mrs.. David Leighton, George Hannel, Charles Hannel, Mrs. Albert Slack. Mrs. Robert Golinski. Miss Emma Hannel is the wife of the Rev. Dr. John O. Sparmon, pastor of the first M. E. church, Arlington, N. J., who will participate In the funeral services. Albert Hannel lives at Melbourne, Florida. Besides 17 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. J. Seller and Mrs. D. Lippert survive her. Always warm hearted, generous, cordial and friendly, Mrs. Hannel had, a host of friends. With a character above reproach she graced the community. She had all the qualities which dignify and endear motherhood and thus she established a home which exemplified the highest ideals. She was a lifelong member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her religious devotion was characterized by that sincerity which everyone respects and her religious life was a continual inspiration; Blessed with large gifts of the heart in particular, she became a blessing. The funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:30 p.m. from the residence of Charles Hannel, 370 Spruce avenue.

G. F. Mueller, Pioneer Rancher, Passes Away
Gottfried F. Mueller well known Northern Hill county farmer, died yesterday in Havre. The body is at the Holland and Bonine Parlors. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the St Paul's Lutheran church, the Rev, W. E. Motzkus officiating. Interment will be in Highlands cemetery. The deceased was born Jan 23, 1856, and was 72 years old. He came to Hill county in 1913 and took a homestead near Cottonwood. He is survived by a son W. W. Mueller and a daughter, Mrs. Charles Hannel of Niagara Falls, N.Y.
