Carol L. Wilkesmore (nee Zimmerman), age 65, of Lewiston, wife of 46 years to Frederick Wilkesmore Sr. entered into rest on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY after a lengthy illness. Carol was born on June 9, 1956, in Niagara Falls, NY. She is the daughter of Caroline Tillotson Zimmerman of Ransomville and the late Harold Zimmerman. She graduated from Wilson H.S class of 1975. She married Frederick Wilkesmore Sr. on June 21, 1975.Carol was a part of the Youngstown Vol. Fire Co. Ladies Axillary for 13 years. She loved her arts and crafts, attending many craft shows, riding on the Harley with her husband also going to concerts and watching local bands perform.Surviving is her husband, Frederick Wilkesmore Sr.; three children, Frederick Wilkesmore Jr. (Cindy Richard), Shawn (Colleen) Wilkesmore and Crystal (Patrick) Hoadley; nine grandchildren, Kelli-Lynn, Amber, Sarah, Emma and Daniel Wilkesmore, Jersey and Charlie Haskell ,Grace Brennon, and Harper Hoadley; her siblings, Harold “ Butch” (Joan) Zimmerman, Sharon (Lolly) Wilson, Gary Zimmerman, Sandy (Glenn) Pless, Gregory Zimmerman, Cindy (Troy) Orsak and Thomas (Diana) Zimmerman. Harold A. (Harvey) Zimmerman, Sr., passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014, at the age of 87 at his residence under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice. He was born on January 8, 1927 in Youngstown, the son of the late John and Anna (Hillman) Zimmerman.
Harold once worked for the Town of Niagara Stone Quarry. He also had worked for Carbide Carbon in Niagara Falls. He left Carbide and went back to farming, working for several local farms. He retired in June of 2006 at the age of 81 from Faery's Farm and Greenhouses in Ransomville where he had worked for 44 years. Harold enjoyed hunting and loved being with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline (Tillotson) Zimmerman. They were married on February 23, 1952 and just celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his eight children, Harold A. (Joan) Zimmerman, Jr. of Burt, NY, Sharon A. (Lolly) Wilson of Wilson, Carol L. (Fred) Wilkesmore of Model City, Gary L. Zimmerman of Niagara Falls, Sandy M. (Glenn) Pless of Ransomville, Gregory C. Zimmerman of Niagara Falls, Cindy L. (Troy) Orzak of Middleport, NY, and Thomas C. (Shiek) Zimmerman of Largo, FL; three brothers, Albert Zimmerman, Kenneth Zimmerman, and James (Diane) Zimmerman, Sr.; three sisters, Lorraine Pollow, Marion (Ward) Delude, and Anna (Morris) "Mike" Buttery; 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Bessie Bonnett, Dorothy Chamberlain, and Winifred Zimmerman; and two brothers, Junior and Edward Zimmerman.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 14th at 10:30 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. William Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria. Caroline Christine Zimmerman (Nee Tillotson), age 88, of Ransomville, NY died peacefully at Our Lady of Peace in Lewiston on March 3rd, 2024, after a lengthy illness. She was born on February 13th, 1936, in Cambria, NY to the late Arnold Lee Tillotson and Mabel Mae Tillotson (Nee Jeffords). Caroline was married to Harold “Harvey” Zimmerman Sr. for 62 years at the time of his death, he predeceased her on March 10th, 2014.She worked for and retired from Faery’s Greenhouse and Nursery, previously working at Sayer Farms and Baker Farms. Caroline go her greatest joy from her dog, Douchy, playing bingo, spending time with her family and listening to country music, especially 90 West.Surviving is her children; Harold “Butch” (Joan) Zimmerman Jr., Sharon (Lolly) Wilson, Gary Zimmerman, Sandra (Glenn) Pless, Gregory Zimmerman, Cynthia (Troy) Orsak, Thomas Zimmerman; her siblings, Viola Rice, June (Joe) Arellano, Dawn Pierce; a son in law Fred Wilkesmore; 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews.Caroline is predeceased by her daughter, Carol Wilkesmore, a great grandson, Austin Wilson and her siblings, Melvin Jeffords, Gordon Jeffords, Audrey Ritchie, Ruth Wilson, Bunny Sanney, Annabell Tilllotson, Gertrude Welland and Calvin Tillotson.Family and friends may call on THURDSAY from 3-7 PM. at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. 3648 RANSOMVILLE RD.
