    David W. Ryals, 43, of Gasport, NY, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Richard A. Ryals and the late Karen (Lepkosky) Ryals.
    On July 20, 2013, David married Dawn M. (Stope) Ryals at Potter’s House Christian Community Church in Niagara Falls, NY.  David was employed for 8 years as a Butcher in the Meat Department at Sam’s Club in Niagara Falls.  A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and target shooting, and enjoyed collecting guns and knives.  Above all, he loved his family, and would spend as much time as possible with them with every chance he had.
    In addition to his wife of 8 years and his father, David is survived by his children, Cassandra Ryals, Savannah Cook, and Kimberly Ryals; his grandson, Alexander Lee Cook; his siblings, Dawn M. (Thomas) Adamec, Joshua S. (Stephanie) Ryals, Scott A. (Tasha) Ryals, and Kari Anne Ryals; his half-brothers, Richard Ryals, Jr. and Jason Ryals, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 18 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin at 7 PM.  Committal Services will be held on Friday, November 19 at 11 AM at Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, 5871 Military Rd, Lewiston, NY 14092.  Visit mjcolucciuneralchapel.com for online condolences.

    Jackie A. “Jack” Strope, age 72, of Niagara Falls, husband of Edna Strope (Nee Rolfe) died Wednesday, March 6th, 2024, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Jack was born on May 4th, 1951, in Niagara Falls, NY. He is the son of the late Lloyd and the late Helen ( Nee Fleming) Strope. He graduated from high school, attended BOCES for diesel mechanics , followed by obtaining his CDL.Jack was a truck driver all of his life, he worked for Modern Disposal Corp., retiring after 20 plus years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family.He is survived by his wife, Edna Strope; two daughters, Dawn (late David) Rylas and Stacey (Dan) Walker; his sister, Sandra Onofrio; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is predeceased by a brother Joseph Strope.A Chapel service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 12th at Niagara Falls Memorial Park, 5871 Military Rd, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Kim Smith officiating. Burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. LEWISTON.

    BUFFALO — Lloyd M. Strope, age 86, of Niagara Falls, NY, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 in the VA Medical Center in Buffalo.

    Lloyd was born March 31, 1927 in Smithfield, PA, the son of the late Levi and Aurilla (Foster) Strope. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 17 in 1944, and served as a combat infantryman in the 9th Infantry. He took part in the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns and was the recipient of the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal Germany, and the WW II Victory Medal. Lloyd was honorably discharged with the rank of PFC in July of 1946. In 1948 he married Helen M. Fleming and they lived in Niagara Falls before moving to Wilson in 1973. Helen predeceased him in 1983, and Lloyd returned to the Falls in 1984. Lloyd was employed as a clerk for Bell Aerospace/Textron in Wheatfield for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

    He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Onofrio of Niagara Falls, NY; two sons, Jack (Edna) Strope of Lewiston and Joseph Strope of Tonawanda; his companion of 30 years, I. Louise Nelson and her daughters, Cindy and the late Noralee; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by six brothers and sisters.

    Private services with military honors will be held at Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston.

Rolfe, age 89, of Model City, NY, died Friday, November 27, 2009, at his residence, under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice.Irven was born May 23, 1920 in Pennsgrove, NJ, the son of the late Herman D. and Betsy (Robinson) Rolfe and had lived here for over 60 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II. Irven served in the Army from Jan. of 1942 to Sept. of 1945, when he was honorably discharged with the rank of T-5. He was a heavy machine gunner with Company C of the 7th Engineering Battalion and took part in the Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland Campaigns. Irven was the recipient of the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and Ribbon with 1 Silver Service Star, the WW II Victory Medal and Ribbon, and the Good Conduct Medal. In 1947 he married Edna M. (Crewe) Rolfe, who predeceased him on June 22, 1981.Irven was a Payloader Operator for National Carbon Co. in Niagara Falls for over 30 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the V.F.W. Down River Post #7487 in Lewiston. Irven enjoyed gardening, horseshoes, playing cards, hunting and reading. He is survived by a son, Ronald Rolfe (fiancé Lois Charsley) of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Edna (Jack) Strope of Youngstown; his grandchildren, Dawn Strope and Stacey Walker; his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Anthony and Nicholas Walker; a sister, Louise Nelson of Niagara Falls; and his special friends, Dana VanDenBosch and Paige Cassatt. He was predeceased by a son, Edward Rolfe; three brothers, Donald, Edward and Stuart Rolfe; and two sisters, Marion Eddy and Thelma Piper.Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth and Ridge Streets, Lewiston, on Sunday from 3-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 30th at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Auernhamer officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Military Rd., Lewiston.
