    Notes:

John T. Cheff, 92 of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on November 24th 2021 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY after a brief illness. John was born in Force, Pennsylvania and spent his childhood years there during the great depression. Like many other PA residents John’s family relocated to the Industry rich area of Niagara Falls, NY.  John was the son of the Late Phillip and Mary (Murone) Cheff.  John was predeceased by his wife Jean M. (DeLuke) Cheff in 2002.
John served in the US Army for about a year and was medically discharged due to a bone disease that he continued to face throughout his whole life. Upon return to civilian life, John was employed at Hooker Chemical for 27 years and retired as an assistant to the plant manager.  Upon retirement, John then worked for another 10 years with the City of Niagara Falls as a license inspector in the City Clerk’s Office.
John amassed many friends across all walks of life throughout his time with us.  John never hesitated to engage the assistance of his numerous Union, Public and Private Sector contacts in helping people and the community as a whole.  John had a longstanding history of involvement in local, county and state politics. For over 40 years John was sought after by, and actively campaigned for numerous political candidates for offices.
John was never a “Jack of All Trades” rather a “Master of Some” and he shared and educated with his expertise.  John was well known for making some of the best Sopprasatte, Italian Sausage, and Hen of Woods mushroom fare.  John enjoyed visiting the OTB’s, area racetracks and the Niagara Casino.
John is survived by a son, Louis P. Cheff of Niagara Falls, a sister Ann (Cheff) Agosti of Buffalo, NY, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins in Pennsylvania, Florida and Illinois.  John was predeceased by a sister, Louise (Cheff) Burroughs.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 29 from 3 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 9:15 AM, followed by John’s Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Holy Family Parish at Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.  Entombment with Military Honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes can be made in John’s name to a charity of one’s choice.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
