    Doris E. Quintern, age 84, left this world to be reunited with her one true love, Deane, January 17, 2022. 

    She was born June 17, 1937 in the Town of Yates to August and Gladys (Plummer) Riemer and was a life-long resident of this area. 

    For many years, Doris taught Sunday School and Confirmation Class at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Lockport where she was also a member and belonged to the Altar Guild.  She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flowers as well as watching soap operas, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.  Doris was also an avid NY Yankees Fan but most of all she was very family oriented and a devoted wife and mother.  Mrs. Quintern was predeceased by her husband Deane, a son John a grandson Robbie and siblings: Donald Riemer, Joyce Banazwski, Marian Warne, Shirley Schnackel, and MaryLou Young. 

    She is survived by her sons: William (Pamela) Quintern of MD, David (Darla) Quintern of Ransomville, her daughters: Eileen (Ron) Gawel of Niagara Falls, Jeanne Quintern of Gasport, Jennifer Atherton of FL., sisters: Margo Schuner of Medina, Carol Hibbard of FL, 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. 

    There will be no calling hours.  A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date with interment in Huskey Cemetery. 

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Oishei Children’s Hospital, 818 Ellicott St., Buffalo, NY, 14203.  Doris’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home of Gasport.

    August G. Riemer, 87, of 2 Westfield Drive, died Sunday morning at the Medina Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was born June 27,1895, in Wolcottsville, the son of the late William and Bertha (Stielow) Riemer. Mr. Riemer had lived in the Medina area most of his life. He had farmed much of his life and had worked for Muchow's Floral Shoppe for 25 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of Senior Citizens of Western Orleans and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Medina. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gladys (Plummer) Riemer; one son, Donald (Marian) Riemer of Medina; seven daughters, Marian (Alvan) Warne of Ft. Myers, Fla., Shirley (Harold) Schnackel of Batavia, Doris (Deane) Quintern of Gasport, Joyce Banazwski of Medina, Marylou (Raymond) Young of Medina, Margo Schuner of Lyndonville, Carol (Douglas) Hibbard of North Tonawanda; two sisters, Mrs. Leona Bates and Mrs. Luella Bacon, both of Medina; 24 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Barnes-Tuttle Inc. Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St., starting Tuesday (2-4, 7-9). A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Medina. The Rev. William Barlow will officiate and burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery, Lyndonville. Memorial gifts may be made in Mr. Riemer's name to either* the Trinity Lutheran Church of Medina or to the Heart Association.
