    Gordon L. Schumacher, age 89, of the Town of Wheatfield, passed away June 13, 2024. Gordon retired from Spaulding Fiber after 38 years of service and had been a volunteer for the Twin City Meals on Wheels. He was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church (E. Felton St.) and St. Martin’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, music concerts, and long drives in the Southern Tier. He was born November 15, 1934, his parents were the late Lester and Edna (Schmidt) Schumacher. He was the husband of the late Doris (Moll) Schumacher. Beloved father of Terry (Jennifer nee Arnst) Schumacher, Paula Cofield, and the late Sandra Chank. Father-in-law of Michael Chank. Grandfather of Lisa (Adam) Cyphers, Jessica (Nick) Miano, Rachel Schumacher, Alexia and Alyssa Cofield. Great grandfather of Rocco, Zoey, and Carson. Brother of Linda (Tom) Wolanske, Sharon York, and the late Shirley (late Ernest) Muenzer, and the late Donald Schumacher. Brother-in-law of Laura Schumacher. Uncle of many nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Thursday from 4 – 8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM from St. Martin Lutheran Church, 322 Old Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda. Interment in White Chapel Memorial Park.     SCHUMACHER - Henry W. Schumacher, 77, of 522 Willow Ave., North Tonawanda, died Saturday (July 1, 1961) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, a member of St. Matthew Lutheran. Church and was formerly a guard at The Wurlitzer Co. He was the husband of the late Ida Dumke Schumacher, who died in 1959. Survivors include six sons, Arnold of Rochester, Lester, Howard, Henry, Edward and Glenwood, all of North Tonawanda; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Louise) Lewis of Lockport and Mrs. Robert (Leona) Schroeder of North Tonawanda; one brother, Albert; two sisters, Mrs. Augusta Martin and Mrs. John Popilea, all of North Tonawanda, 29 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.
