    Maynard C. Crampton, Jr., aged 87, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, New York, entered into rest on Friday, December 16, 2022.  He was the son of the late Maynard C. Crampton, Sr. and Beatrice (Halliday) Crampton.  He was predeceased by two brothers; Charles W. White and Richard Crampton, and two sisters; Myrtle (Crampton) Hannam Geschwender and Doris (Crampton) Caldwell.  On January 4, 1963, he married his beloved wife of 59 + years, Mary M. (Malaney) Crampton and they would have celebrated their 60th Anniversary in 19 days.
    Mr. Crampton was raised and educated in Niagara Falls, New York before moving to Lockport in 2015.  He served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1961 which included 13 months in Korea with the 13th Engineer Combat Battalion, 7th Division.  He was recalled to active duty during the Berlin Crisis in August, 1961 and served through August of 1962. 
    Following his honorable discharge in 1964 he was employed by Moore Business Forms on Buffalo Avenue for 19 years and Airco Carbon / Carbon Graphite for 24 years until his retirement in 1999.  During his retirement Mr. Crampton enjoyed spending his time with his family, hunting and fishing.  Maynard was baptized into the Roman Catholic Church in 1983 and became a member of St. Leo’s (St. Vincent de Paul) Parish.
    In addition to his loving wife of nearly 60 years he is survived by his four children; Cathy A. (Wade) Gordon, Vincent R. (late Cheryl) Crampton, Michael A. Crampton and Karen E. (Leo) Sperduti.  He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. 
    A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 11 A.M. in the All Saints Mausoleum in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 500 Riverdale Avenue in Lewiston.  Those wishing to attend please gather at the mausoleum.  There will be no prior visitation and flowers are gratefully declined.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
