    Donald V. Wagner, 81

    Donald V. Wagner, 81, of Lafayette, died at 10:40 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at Home Hospital
    He was born on April 1, 1924, in Wolcott. On April 14, 1956, he married Beatrice Cyr, and she survives.
    He farmed in the Wolcott and Remington areas for 50 years. After retiring, he earned his realty license and sold real estate in the Lafayette area.
    Mr. Wagner served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War.
    He was a member of St. Mary Cathedral, and had been a 60-year member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Remington. He also was a member of Lafayette Board of Realtors, American Legion, Tippecanoe County Conservation, Catholic Order of Foresters and Lafayette Serra Club. He was an avid golfer, working at Purdue Golf Course and most recently at the Municipal Golf Course.
    Surviving with his wife are three sons, John Wagner (wife: Pam) of Racine, Wis., Jody Wagner (wife: Kerri) of Lafayette and Albert Wagner (wife: Nancy) of Easton, Conn.; three daughters, Jennifer Kerkes of Indianapolis, Colleen Nordyke (Husband: John) of West Hartford, Conn., and Jolleen Gray (husband: Cliff) o Sierra Vista, Ariz.; and four sisters, Lucille Perkins of Kentland, Helen Perry (husband: Bill) of Kentland, Evelyn Harris of Remington and Margaret Limp of Huntington Beach, Calif.

    REMINGTON - Mrs. Nealla M. Wagner, 83, of Remington, died at 10:40 a.m.Saturday in Rensselaer Care Center. She had been a patient there three years.
    She was born in Wolcott. In 1920 she was married, in Remington, to John M. Wagner, they fared in the Remington and Wolcott areas until his death in 1960. She then moved into Remington.
    Mrs. Wagner was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rosary and Altar Society and Wolcott American Legion Auxiliary 294.
    Surviving are three sons, Edward Wagner of Battle Ground, Donald Wagner of Remington and Russell Wagner of Rensselaer; four daughters, Mrs. Elman (Lucille) Perkins) and Mrs. William (Helen) Perry, both of Kentland, Mrs. Evelyn Harris of Remington and Mrs. Margaret Limp of Manhattan Beach, Calif.
    Also surviving are a brother, Raymond Mathew of Rensselaer; and five sisters, Mrs. Iva Deno of Goodland, Mrs. Mabel Deno of Earl Park, Mrs. Lillian Faker of Kentland, and Ms. Lorene Anstett and Mrs. Rita Mahaffey, both of Ocala, Fla.

    Grandsons Serve As Pallbearers

    Funeral services were held Monday morning at 10 o'cock at the Sacred Heart Church in Remington for Levi Mathew, a well known resident to the Wolcott community who passed away Friday morning at the St. Elizabeth hospital, at Lafayette. The services were largely attended.
    Pallbearers were grandsons Edward Wagner, Dean Norwood, Melvin Wagner, Robert Deno, Albin Anstette and Gene Deno. Father Leo McHale officiated and burial was made in the Sacred Heart cemetery at Remington. The Foster Funeral Home of Wolcott was in charge of the rites.

    WOLCOTT, Dec. 1-Levi Mathew, 74, a retired farmer, died at St. Elizabeth hospital, Lafayette, yesterday. He had been a patient there three weeks.
    He had lived in this community more than 70 years and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church, Remington. He was first married to Armelia Propo, who died in 1926, then, on Dec. 26, 1939 he was married to Claire Ribard.
    He was the eldest of 11 children and was the father of 11 children.
    Surviving with the widow are the 11 sons and daughters, Mrs. John Wagner, Edwin Mathew, Mrs. Lawrence Mathew, Mrs. George Zeno, Mrs. Elmer Zeno, Ryland Mathew, Mrs. Rita Mattes, and Raymond Mathew, of this community, and Mrs. W.N. Norwood, Lason, Ill., Mrs. Ervin Anstett, Earl Park, and Mrs. George Faker, Chalmers; and eight brothers, Ned, Fred, William, Oscar, Arthur, Amos, Clarence and Herman Mathew, of this community, and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Guimond, Manteno, Ill., and Mrs. Felix Delisle, Boronnate, Ill.
