Matthew Laughlin May 7, 1933 - May 25, 2023
Matthew Laughlin, age 90, of Lewiston, entered in rest on Thursday, May 25th, 2023, at Elderwood at Grand Island in Grand Island, NY. Matthew was born on May 7th, 1933, in Niagara Falls, NY. He is the son of the late Matthew and the late Jane (McConnachie) Laughlin Sr. He was a graduate of NFHS and U.B. He married Mary Beretta on October 4th, 1958.
He served in the U.S Army during the Korean war from 1953 to 1955. He retired from NYS Senator John Daly's office in 1997 after 20 years as the Senior Aide. Matthew enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling, spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise (Beretta) Laughlin; his son, Michael (Julie) Laughlin; his sister, Lillian Rose; 2 grandsons, Michael (Courtney) Laughlin Jr., Andrew (Caitlyn) Laughlin and 1 great-granddaughter, Vayda Laughlin; also several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, William Laughlin, Margaret Petts, Grace Swifka and Kate Brown, also his son Matthew Laughlin.
Calling hours will be Thursday, June 1st from 10am-12pm at Hardison Funeral Homes Inc., 401 Ridge St. (N. Fourth & Ridge Streets), Lewiston, NY.
Funeral services will be held immediately following at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Lew Body Dementia Association at (lbda.org). Please visit www.hardisonfuneralhomes.com
