    Evelyn Confer of Lockport, NY, died February 17, 2024, at the age of 94.She was born May 21, 1929, to Leon and Ruth Peters and lived in the Town of Royalton all her life. Wife of the late H. LaRue "Nick" Confer; mother of Kathleen (Blair) Boone, Carolyn (David) Moore; grandmother of Alexander (Jennifer) Ruch and great-grandmother of Faith Ruch; sister of Loraine (James) Klino; also survived by many nieces and nephews.Evelyn kept house and worked in the fields on the family farm, managed her husband's snowplowing business, and later in life, was employed in the community relations and development offices of the original Lockport Memorial and DeGraff Hospitals, culminating in her promotion to the position of Foundation Coordinator at DeGraff. She was a dedicated member of the former Rapids Christian Chapel, the Lockport Free Methodist Church, and subsequently Raymond Community Church. She enjoyed church activities, snowmobiling, tending her lawn and gardens, and teaching herself how to code on her personal computer. Family and friends are invited to the LANGE FUNERAL HOME, 186 East Avenue, Lockport, NY on Saturday, February 24th for visitation from 10-11 AM, with service immediately following at 11:00 AM. Flowers gratefully declined; memorials may be made to the Catholic Health Foundation/Lockport Memorial Hospital or Beechwood Continuing Care.     of 5983 Riddle Road, Town of
    Royalton, widow of Godfrey Van
    Buren. died this morning (Feb.
    22, 1968) at Buffalo General
    Hospital.
    Born Jan. 9, 1879 in the Town
    of Lockport, she was the daughter
    of Chauncey and Caroline
    Goss Blosser, and had lived in
    the Town of Royalton about 70
    years.
    She was married to Mr. Van
    Buren on Nov. 16, 1898. He died
    Nov. 10, 1910.
    She had been a member of
    Rapids E.U.B. Church for 70
    years.
    Prior to her marriage she
    taught school about four years
    in the Town of Lockport.
    Surviving are a son and two
    daughters. Ellis Van Buren and
    Mrs. Leon (Ruth) Peters, both
    of Lockport. Mrs. Walter (Marion)
    Bell of Clarence Center;
    one brother, Burt Blosser of
    Gasport; three grandchildren
    and five great - grandchildren.
    also several nieces and nephews.
    Friends may can at their convenience
    at the Lange Funeral
    Home, 186 East Ave., where
    services will be held at 2 p.m.
    Saturday. The family will be
    present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
    p.m.
    Burial will be in Huskey Cemetery.
    The Rev. James F. Burdick
    will officiate.
