    NIAGARA FALLS — Niagara Falls - Richard A. Geltz, age 89, of Niagara Falls NY, died Thursday, July 22, 2010 in the Schoellkopf Health Care Center in Niagara Falls. Richard was born October 9, 1920 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Louis and Celeste (Walck) Geltz. He was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls and was a lifelong resident. Richard was a Millwright, employed by Wendt's Manufacturing in Niagara Falls, NY, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Richard was an avid bowler, fisherman and model ship builder. He loved baseball, especially the NY Yankees. He married Caroline (Coyle) Geltz on December 12, 1970. Caroline predeceased him on November 6, 2006. He is survived by his children, Rick (Chris) Geltz of Lockport, Mike (Grant) Geltz of Oakland, CA, Sue (Jerry) Lambert of Ransomville, Carla "Cookie" (John) O'Malley of Niagara Falls, Becky (Dave) Sled of Lockport, John (Roxanne) Geltz of Ransomville, and Janice (Jerry) Hoover of Sanborn; two step-daughters, Peggy Coyle of Lewiston and Carol Ann (Leo) Lehner of Cupertino, CA; a brother, Kenneth (Shirley) Geltz of Lewiston, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 26th at 10:00 AM in Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2759 Military Rd., Niagara Falls, with the Rev. Glenn Richardson officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston. (Geltz) Jeffery, age 89 of Ransomville died Saturday March 14, 2015 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, with her family by her side.Phyllis was born June 13, 1925 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Edward and Ruby (Arkles) Gatley and attended Barker Schools. She worked at the former Francie's Hill View Restaurant for many years until opening her own restaurant, "Grandma's Place" in Ransomville which she operated for many years until her retirement. She really enjoyed baking and cooking for her customers.Phyllis was a member of the North Ridge United Methodist Church and a member of the choir for several years. She loved nature, especially feeding her birds. She also loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Phyllis had a love for music and enjoyed playing her organ.She was predeceased by her husband, Bill Jeffery in 2012. She is survived by a daughter, Becky (Dave) Sled; three sons, Rick (Chris), Mike (Grant), and John (Rox) Geltz; her step children, Sidney (Carol) Jeffery, Janis Faery, Suzi (Don) McGinnis, and Tim (Patty) Jeffery; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a large extended family of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five sisters, Aleda Hvrol, Sylvia Gatley, Lois Molnar, Brenda Wilson, and Zora Wendsch and five brothers, Edward, Edwin, Larry, Cliff, and Jerome Gatley.A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 22, at 2:00 pm in the North Ridge United Methodist Church, 3930 North Ridge Rd., Town of Cambria with the Rev. Matthew Worley officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Phyllis donated her remains to the University of Buffalo's Anatomical Gift Program. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 or to North Ridge United Methodist Church.

    AKRON - Louis L. Geltz, 102, of Wesley Avenue, died Wednesday (Oct. 15, 1997) in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Batavia. He was born Feb. 19, 1895, in LaSalle, the son of Adam and Minnie (Hartman) Geltz.
    He served in the U.S. Army during World War I in the 307th Infantry, 77th Division.
    Mr. Geltz worked as a truck driver for the Industrial Welding Co. in Niagara Falls. He was a member of the LaSalle American Legion Post 1142 and the Akron-Newstead Senior Citizens. He is survived by his wife, Hilda (Baehr) Geltz; two sons, Richard Geltz of Niagara Falls and Kenneth Geltz of Lewiston; a step-daughter, Gladys Bruning of Gasport; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; five step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was the husband of Celesta (Walck) Geltz, who died in 1966; the brother of the late, Elmer Geltz, Carl Geltz and Eva Geltz; and the stepfather of the late Bernard Bruning. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Bernhardt Funeral Home, 130 Main St. Visitation also will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville, followed by services at 11 a.m. Burial with full military honors will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.     Louis L. Geltz, a former Niagara Falls resident and a Niagara Falls truck driver for many years, died Wednesday (Oct. 15, 1997) in Veterans Hospital in Batavia. He was 102.
    Geltz, of Wesley Avenue, Akron, was born on Feb. 19, 1895, in what is now the LaSalle area of Niagara Falls.
    He served in the U.S. Army during World War I in the 307th Infantry, 77th Division.
    Geltz worked for many years as a truck driver for the former Industrial Welding Co. in Niagara Falls.
    He was a member of the LaSalle American Legion Post 1142, Niagara Falls and the Akron-Newstead Senior Citizens.
    Geltz's first wife, Celesta Walck Geltz, died in 1966.

    The silver wedding anniversary
    of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Feltz, of
    North Military road, which was ob-
    served Saturday, June 24, with a
    buffet supper and reception, was
    one of the most unique and interest-
    ing anniversaries held in this city
    in a long time. Not only were their
    two sons, Richard and Kenneth,
    present and many of their friends,
    but receiving with Mr. and Mrs.
    Gelts were the members of their
    wedding party 25 years ago, wiith
    Mrs. Harold Austin, the former
    Augusta Burrow, maid of honor in
    the wedding in 1918; with the
    former bridesmaids, Mrs. Edward
    Krull, of North tonawanda, who
    was Miss Irene Hasley and Mrs.
    Phillip Walck, formerly miss Rose
    Devantier, of Sanborn, N.Y.
    the best man at the wedding was
    Mr. Carl Geltz and his ushers were
    Mr. Harry haseley, of North Tona-
    wanda, and from this city Mr.
    Robert Neville, Mr. Archie Neville
    and Mrs. John Mueller.
    Twenty-five years ago Mr. Gelts
    arrived home six weeks before his
    wedding date from overseas duty
    in the First World War. His best
    man and ushers wee all his friends
    who had returned only a short time
    before the wedding, from overseas
    duty.
    At the wedding anniversary, which
    was held in the hall of the Veter-
    ans of Foreign Wars of the United
    States, Buffalo avenue and Eighty-
    seventh street, more than 100
    friends were present. Mrs. Feltz
    wore a light blye floor-length gown
    f crepe with a corsage of dainty
    summer flowers. She wore a silver
    ornament in her hair. Mrs. Austin
    wore a gown of wine lace and silk.
    Mrs. Krull wore a black and white
    summer print and Mrs. Walck was
    in a summer print. Each wore a
    corsage of mixed flowers.
    The three tier wedding cake was
    set in summer flowers with tall
    silver holders holding white tapers
    at each end of the table.
    Mr. and Mrs. Geltz were both
    bom in this city, have made it their
    home for the last 25 years. They
    were the recipients of many lovely
    anniversary gifts. Friends were
    here from North Tonawanda, Hornell.
    N. Y, Akron, N. Y , Lockport,
    and this city.
