    Bruce Andrew Hansen, Sr., 84, of Denver, NC, formally of Huntersville, NC, passed away quietly, on April 2, 2024.Born April 19, 1939, in Lewiston, New York, Bruce was a successful businessman, but in his spare time, he was an avid fisherman, sailor, and enjoyed racing cars with his son. As a devoted father and grandfather, Bruce cherished his family and all the time they spent together. The consummate host, his million-dollar smile and robust laughter was the welcome mat for entertaining.Bruce was the beloved husband of the late Maureen Blackley Hansen for 47 years. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Paul Hansen, and sister, Jane LaRoe.Bruce is survived by his significant other Jane W. Rankin of Denver, NC. He is also survived by his children; Suzanne (Sue) of Southport, NC, Andy and wife Pam of Davidson, NC, Maureen (Ming) and husband Paul of Lakewood, NY; and grandchildren Will, Ben, Jack, and Charlie.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The St. Jude Foundation or to the charity of your choice.The family will hold a private graveside service at Northridge Cemetery in Lockport, New York. A reception and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June, 22, 2024, from 1:00 – 3:00pm at the Youngstown Yacht Club at 491 Water Street Youngstown, NY 14174.

    the aisle with her father,
    the bride chose a gown of
    white silk peau de soie and
    Alencon lace with bell-shaped
    skirt terminating in a
    chapel train.
    Her cathedral veil of silk
    Illusion was secured by a
    crown of painted Alencon
    lace. She c a r r i e d white
    mums and white rose buds.
    Her attendants wore similar
    peacock f l o o r - l e n g th
    gowns with Empire bodices
    and matching open pillboxes.
    They were Miss Margaret
    Blackley, her sister, maid of
    honor; Mrs. John F. Blackley
    Jr., Mrs. James Blackley,
    Mrs.'True Hewitt Jr. and
    Mrs. Bruce Billings, bridesmaids.;
    Their flowers were
    yellow mums and white rose
    buds for the maid of honor
    . and white mums and yellow
    rose buds for the bridesmaids.

    were John F. Blackley Jr.,
    James Blackley, Gary Mc-
    Farlane, and James Schoonmaker.
    The Imperial Suite of the
    Parkway Inn was the setting
    for a reception a f t e r the
    ceremony.
    The mother of the bridegroom
    was attired in aqua
    crepe with matching accessories.
    Pink peau de soie and
    a m a t c h i n g pillbox were
    chosen by the bride's mother.
    Each wore a white orchid
    corsage.
    Upon their return from a
    motor trip to Florida, the
    c o u p l e will reside at 560
    Main St.. here.

    Stricken ill at the Locust Bake
    Shop, Charles F. Blackley. 71, retired
    firemen, of 23 Grosvenor St.,
    was taken Saturday afternoon to
    Lockport City Hospital where he
    was pronounced dead.
    Mr. Blackley retired from the
    fire department last Dec. 31 after
    27 years of service. At the annual
    banquet of the Firemen's Benevolent
    and Protective Association in Jan-
    uary he was presented with a purse
    and a life membership in the New
    York state Fire fighters Associa-
    tion.
    A native of Lockport, Mr.
    Blackley was employed by the for-
    mer Fibre Corporation and also was
    employed as a plumbers helper be-
    fore he was appointed to the Fire
    Department on Dec. 1, 1921.
    Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary
    Blackley; a son, J. Francis Black-
    ley; a sister, Mrs. Charles Rice
    and a brother, Robert Blackley, all
    of Lockport.
    Services will be held tomorrow at
    2:30 at the home. Burial will be in
    St. Patrick's Cemetery.
