Janet A. Rider (nee Bush), 88, of North Tonawanda died on Tuesday (April 30, 2024) in Weinberg Campus after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Reginald C. Rider whom she married June 2, 1956 in North Tonawanda who died Jan 18, 1998.
Mrs. Rider was born August 15, 1935 in North Tonawanda, the daughter of Norman and Viola (Werth) Bush. Sister of the late Roger (Nancy) Bush.
She was a proud homemaker and member of Payne Avenue Christian Church, where she served as a deaconess for many years.
Surviving are two daughters; Shelley (Ronald) Wilson of Fredericksburg, Texas and Brenda (Robert) Sass of East Amherst, two sons; Jeffrey Rider of Leland, North Carolina and Brian Rider of North Tonawanda, six grandchildren; Brett and Brandon Kofod, Stephanie (Shawn) Egan, Kimberly Sass, and Rebecca and Jeffrey Wyatt Rider; and three great grandchildren
Friends may call Friday 4-8pm at the Wattengel Funeral Home, 533 Meadow Drive where services will be held Saturday at 10:00am. Private burial will be in St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield. Memorials may be made to Payne Avenue Christian Church or to the charity of one's choice.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Bush; one daughter, Mrs. Reginald (Janet) Rider of North Tonawanda, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Roger (Nancy) Bush of North Tonawanda; one brother, Benjamin Werth of Bakersfield, Calif., and seven grandchildren. William J. Werth. 59 years old, died
yesterday at his home, 127 Rumbold
avenue, after an illness of three weeks
with heart disease. He was born in
Unionville, Mich., and had resided in
North Tonawanda for 25 years. He
was a member of North Star Lodge,
No. 337, Knights of Pythias.
Surviving are a wife, Anna; two sons,
Benjamin, Bakersfield, Calif., and Nor-
man, North Tonawanda; a daughter,
Mrs. Norman Bush, North Tonawanda;
two brothers, Fred Werth, Unionville,
and Alvin, Bay City, Mich., and a sister
Mrs. John Schermenhorn, Wilmington,
cal. The funeral will be held Thursday
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the resi-
dence.
