    A 25-year-old Niagara Falls plant worker today became*
    this city's second traffic fatality victim for 1958 after a car
    he was operating became involved in a collision wkh another
    car at 24th St. and Woodlawn Ave. last midnight. The
    operator of the second car was injured in the accident.
    The dead man was:
    Roger A. Bauer, 25, of 2402 Ontario Ave., who died
    of head injuries at 2:30 a.m. at Memorial Hospital.
    Injured in the mishap was:
    Victor A. Talarico, 38, of 2442 Woodlawn Ave., a general
    Contractor, who suffered head, chest and knee injuries, Bis
    condition was listed as "fair" at the same hospital.
    Police said Bauer, an Internat
    i o n a l Graphite and Electrode
    Corp. employe and part time taxicab
    driver, was driving hts own
    car at the time. He was going
    south and Talarico was driving
    east when the cars collided.
    Hurled Through Window
    Bauer, according to police, was
    hurled through a window of the car;
    on the passenger side of the vehicle.
    His car came to rest against a
    street sign.
    Talarico's car, police said, traveled
    about 70 feet after the accident before
    it struck a house occupied
    by George Marincucci, 2403 Woodlawn
    Ave.
    The two men were taken to Me-
    morial Hospital by Frontier Ambulance.
    Police said they issued a summons,
    charging failure to heed a
    stop sign at the intersection, to Talarico.
    It is returnable in City Court on
    Wednesday.
    Lt. Stanley Olszewski and Traffic
    Officers Bruno Giunta and John
    R. O'Farrell investigated the misi
    hap.
    Coroner F. Eugene Ingram said
    he was withholding a death certificate
    pending further investigation
    into the fatality-
    It was the first fatal traffic accident
    here since Jan. 10. The two
    traffic deaths to date in this city for
    1958 compare to one at this time
    last year.
    Was an Inspector
    Mr. Bauer was an inspector for
    the International Graphite and Electrode
    Corp.
    He is survived bj his wife, Mrs.
    Audrey Jane Bauer, two son Dennis
    Allen and Robert Francis Bauer;
    his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick
    T. Bauer, Town of Niagara; four
    brothers, John. Joseph, Frederick
    and Clarence Bauer, this city, and
    a sister, Mrs. Betty Atkinson, Town
    of Niagara.
    Funeral arrangements, which will
    be announced, are being made by
    the Cornell and Daggett funeral
    chapel.

    Betty L. (née Scott) Sahr, 90, of North Tonawanda, New York, Tuesday (April 30, 2024) in Elderwood of Lockport, surrounded by her family. Betty was born in Amherst, New York on June 15, 1933 to Frederick and Adele (Spano) Scott. Betty was a supervisor at Spaulding Fibre. She was predeceased by her husband Irvin E. Sahr who died in 2007, her sisters and brothers Mona (Levant ) Smith, Thelma (Robert) Kaltenbach, Verna (Donald) Rockwood, Edwina (Donald) Beeman, Anita (Harmen) Asma, Reginald, Norman (Betty) and Frederick (Mildred "Dolly") Scott.
    Betty is survived by her daughters Deborah Bauer, and Kristi (Paul Forkey) Sahr-Forkey, and son Scott Sahr, grandchildren of Bryanne, and Braden Bauer, and Kade and Kira Forkey, also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call Tuesday (May 7, 2024) from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Wattengel Funeral Home, 533 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda, NY. Where funeral services will be held Wednesday ( May 8, 2024) at 10:00 AM. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery

    The former Miss Betty Louise
    Scott, daughter of Mrs. Frederick

    Tonawanda, end the late Mr. Scott,
    became the bride of Mr. Sahr on
    Jan. 16 in a ceremony at 11 a.m.
    in St. Christopher's Shrine, Niagara
    Falls Blvd. The Rt. Rev.
    William Solleder officiated.
    The bride wore a gown of white
    satin and lace with illusion neckline

    and a fingertip veil of net
    and lace caught to a halo of
    orange blossoms. She wore a
    strand of pearls,' a gift from the
    bridegroom and carried white carnations,
    camellias and pink rose-
    buds in a crescent shaped bouquet.
    Her sister, Miss Edwina Scott,
    was the maid of honor wearing a
    white net ballerina length dress.
    Tiny rosebuds edged the fan
    shaped neckline. She carried red
    roses and white carnations and
    wore a halo of rosebuds in her
    hair.
    Clayton Kitchen attended the
    bridegroom as best man.
    For her daughter's wedding Mrs.
    Scott chose a blue taffeta dress
    studded with whinestones and wore
    a pink camellia corsage. The
    bridegroom's mother chose a navy
    blue crepe dress with lace neck-
    line and sleeves and a corsage of
    camellias.
    A wedding breakfast was served
    in the Eldredge Cllub with yellow
    and white carnations centering
    table. A reception was given in the
    Barge Inn for 200 guests.
    Mrs. Janet Buike of Delware
    St. entertained at a pre-nuptial
    party for the bride.
