    Of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Niagara Hospice. Ramona was born in Tulsa, OK on July 9, 1940, a daughter of the late James "Fred" and Toria [Sharp] Rooker. She attended Northeastern Institute of Christian Education in Villanova, PA where she met her future husband, Lloyd Draper. She came to the Lewiston Area in 1961, attended beauty school, and married Lloyd on June 22, 1963. Ramona was a hairdresser for many years before becoming a Registered Nurse through Niagara County Community College. She provided compassionate care to her patients at Fairchild Manor, Stella Niagara, City of Faith Hospital, Mount St. Mary's Hospital, as well as in home health care through the HART Program. Ramona, along with her husband, was actively involved with Hickory College Church of Christ for many years. She often spent summers cooking for staff and campers at Christian Heights Camp in Little Valley, NY. Upon retirement, Ramona and Lloyd set sail on an adventure from the Niagara River to the Bahamas aboard their sailboat, Serenity. In addition to traveling, she enjoyed crafting, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family. She was adored by many and was often referred to with loving nicknames including Mona, Sissy, and Auntie Ramona. Her most cherished titles were Mom and Nana. She will be remembered as a dependable and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who was always available to lend a loving ear. She was compassionate and empathetic which was evident in the end of life care she gave to those she nursed. Ramona brought much joy to her family with her generous spirit, unique sense of humor, infectious laughter and her devotion to her children and grandchildren in all their endeavors. Ramona is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lloyd, her children Diana (Lee) Gardner, Daniel Draper, Catherine (Thomas) Palmer and Debra (Mark) Morrison, eight grandchildren Courtney and Megan Whetstine, Owen and Ella Draper, Morgan and Hannah Palmer, Sophia and Eric Morrison, a brother James (Judy) Rooker, sisters Helen (late Foy) Johnson, Kathleen (Ralph) Adkison and Sharon Crowe, sisters-in-law Loraine (late Bill) Anderson and BonnaSue Draper, her caregiver Tiasha Smith, and many nieces and nephews. Ramona was the sister of the late Wanda (late Ken) Bishop Ramona's family would like to thank the staff at Liberty Home Care and Niagara Hospice especially for their compassionate care and kindness. They also deeply appreciate the support of extended family and friends during her prolonged illness. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 14, 2024 at 4:00PM at Bella Rose Vineyard and Winery, 1243 Ridge Road, Lewiston, NY (the former Draper farm). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive Lockport, NY 14094 or to the HART Program, 505 Cayuga Street, Lewiston, NY 14092.

Remains resting at the Tallman Funeral Home, Highway 8, Vlneland, Ont. Services in the Chapel Monday at 2 p.m. Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Niagara Falls, N.Y.
