John H. Breitenbach
Retired Production Supervisor for National Grinding Wheel in North Tonawanda
John H. Breitenbach, age 98, of Kenmore, NY, and also of Niagara Falls, NY, Sunday, January 12, 2003 at North Gate Manor Health Care Facility. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, he had been a resident of Kenmore for more than 55 years and of Niagara Falls from 1992 until 1999. He was the husband of Lauretta M. (nee Guinther) Breitenbach, who died in 1992 and was the son of the late Philip and Augusta Breitenbach. Mr. Breitenbach had been employed by National Grinding Wheel in North Tonawanda for 36 years, retiring in 1970 and was a member of Salem United Church of Christ. He is survived by his sister, Katherine Pokelwaldt of Lockport, NY. and was the brother of the late Louis, Frederick, Henry and Walter Breitenbach, Anna Wendt, Margaret Bayer and Elsie Bayer, also survived by many nieces and nephews.The family will receive relatives and friends on WEDNESDAY from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Salem United Church of Christ, 114 Morgan Street in Tonawanda, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. following the visitation. Friends invited. The Rev. Alice McDermott will officiate. A private burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial contributions are preferred to Salem United Church of Christ or to the charitable organization of your choice. Arrangements by John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., Tonawanda, NY.

PHILIP BREITENBACH
Philip Breitenbach, 78, of 96 Robinson St., died Wednesday in DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Germany, Mr. Breitenbach came to the U.S. when he was 12 years old and has since been a resident of the North Tonawanda area. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church of Wendelville. Surviving are five sons: Louis, Fred, Henry and Walter all of North Tonawnda, and John of the Town of Tonawanda, four daughters, Mrs. Benjamin Wendt of Sanborn, Mrs. Edward Pokelwaldt of Niagara Falls, and Mrs. Kenneth Bayer and Mrs. Earl Bayer of Wendelville; 14 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; two brothers, Louis of the Town of Amherst and Adam of North Tonawanda; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Toellner of the Town of Amherst. Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Hamp Funeral Home, 37 Adam St, the Rev. Karl Kindt officiating. Burial will be in Wheatfield cemetery.

Phillip married BEHM, Augusta L in 1896 in New York. Augusta (daughter of BEHM, Ferdinand and BEHM, Caroline Ernestine) was born on 4 Jun 1877 in Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

ADAM REITENBACH (sic)
Adam Reitenbach (sic), 82 years old, died this morning at his home, Shawnee road, town of Wheatfield, where he had resided for the last 40 years, coming to America from Germany. He is survived by three sons, Philip, Pickard's Bridge; Louis, town of Amherst, and Adam, Wheatfield; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Toellner, Amherst; 18 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, and a brother, William, Wheatfield. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, standard time at the residence. Rev. Andrew Hils of the Salem church will conduct the services and interment will be in the Wheatfield cemetery.

Adam married Philipine in 1873 in Prussia. Philipine was born in Dec 1847 in Prussia; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Ferdinand Behm, 81 years vold.
died last night at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. Philip Breitenbach.
Pickard's Bridge. He was born In
Germany and had resided in the
town of Wheatfield and other parts
of Niagara county for the past two
years. Surviving are five sons,
John L., Lockkport, William and
George, Hudson. Wis., Charles,
Atwater, Minn., and Frank, Brain-
ard, Minn.; four daughters, Mrs.
Martin Wendlinger, Buffalo, Mrs.
Breitenbach. Mrs. Emil Bush and
Mrs. Henry Martin, North Tona-
wantan; 49 grandchildren, and 18;
great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Friday
afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Breitenbach
residence and at 2:451
o'clock, standard time, at the St.
Mark's church on Washington
street. Rev. Paul Fretthold will
officiate and interment will be in
St. John's cemetery, St. Johnsburg.
