LAUER - Mathias J. Of Sun City West, AZ (formerly of Akron, NY), passed away July 15, 2018. Beloved husband of Marion Lauer; dear father of Kenneth (Katleen) Lauer, William Lauer, Donna Lauer, Joanne (Lauer) Furer, Jim Comstock, Dan Comstock, Cathy Neal, Susan Scorsie, and Deborah Ehms; also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews and sister June Cucinotta. Born in Buffalo, NY to Charles and Clara (Wetzel) Lauer, he was a retired tool and die maker at General Motors in Buffalo, a Veteran of the US Marine Corps, lifelong blood donor, recognized as a talented woodcarver and avid trap shooter. Mathias was predeceased by his parents, sisters Patricia (Mick) Schultz and Evelyn Seifert and brother Charles Lauer, Jr. Memorial Service to be held at a future date. Donations can be made in Mathias' honor to American Heart Association.
