    James ‘Jim’ Wegener, Jr., 76, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Erie County Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late James F. and Edith J. (Hanson) Wegener.
    Jim graduated from the former LaSalle Senior High School and earned his Associate’s Degree from Niagara County Community College. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Korea as a Military Police Officer until his honorable discharge. For over 35 years, he worked for National Fuel Gas as a Regulator Control Technician until his retirement in 2008. He was a lifetime member of the Zion Lutheran Church and was an avid bowler and golfer. Above all, Jim cherished the time spent with his loving family.
    Jim is survived by his wife, Ann M. (Wissler) Wegener, and was predeceased by his first wife, Janelle (Eddy) Wegener. He is also survived by his children, James ‘Jamie’ P. (Janet) Wegener, Janelle (Frank) Dengate, Daniel (Jessica) Pease and Jeanette (Richard) Koch; his grandchildren, Shaun Wegener, Tiffany (David) Mehrlich, Ryleigh Wegener, Rhianne Wegener, Alexander Koch and Molly Dengate; two great-grandchildren, Emerley Pease and Shirley Mehrlich; his siblings, Elaine (Ronald) Fees and Erwin (Cindy) Wegener, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Carl (Carol) Wegener.
    Visitation will be Saturday, February 24 from 11:30 – 1:30 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 1:30 PM. Interment with Military Honors will follow in N.F. Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church.     YOUNGSTOWN - Janelle L. Wegener, a charge nurse in the intensive-care unit of DeGraff Memorial Hospital in North Tonawanda, died Wednesday (Feb. 26, 2003) in Buffalo General Hospital after a lengthy battle with lupus. She was 54.
    She was born Janelle Eddy in Niagara Falls and graduated in 1966 from Niagara Falls High School. She attended Niagara County Community College in Sanborn and the University of Rochester, where she earned her bachelor of science degree in nursing.

    Mrs. Wegener was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls, where she was a longtime choir member and member of the church's Women's Bible Study program and Zion Council.

    She also was a member of the Stitch and Chat Group and had been actively involved in the Lupus Support Group at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston.

    Mrs. Wegener is survived by her husband, James F. Jr.; her parents, Paul J. and Virginia Mack Eddy of Niagara Falls; a son, James P. of Niagara Falls; twin daughters, Janelle K. and Jeanette C., both of Youngstown; a sister, Dawn Cottrill of Erin, Ont., and a twin sister, Janette Carver of Sanborn; and a grandson.

    Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Zion Lutheran Church, 100 Michigan Ave., Niagara Falls. Burial is in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.

    NIAGARA FALLS - Paul J. Eddy, 84, died Wednesday in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a short illness.
    The lifelong resident of Niagara Falls attended Sacred Heart School, North Junior High School and Trott Vocational High School.

    He was employed by the B.F. Goodrich Chemical Co. for 26 years, as a chemical foreman, until the plant closed in 1971.

    He and his wife, the former Virginia Mack, ran Sanborn Liquor in Sanborn from 1972 to 1982.

    He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and Lodge 785, Free and Accepted Masons.

    Mr. Eddy enjoyed spending summers at the family place in Muskoka Lake, Ont.

    In addition to his wife of 59 years, survivors include two daughters, Janette Carver of Sanborn and Dawn Cottrill of Erin, Ont.; a brother, John of Clearwater, Fla.; two sisters, Geraldine Lewin of Lewiston and Mary Dussler of Clearwater, Fla.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

    Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Zion Lutheran Church, 1010 Michigan Ave. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

    NIAGARA FALLS — Virginia M. Eddy, 91, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at her residence. Born on June 9, 1921 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Vera (Lee) Mack.

    Mrs. Eddy was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. Virginia also attended both business and nursing schools. On September 22, 1945, she married Paul Eddy. He predeceased her on November 10, 2005. Mrs. Eddy worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Virginia was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls, NY, as well as the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and reading. Mrs. Eddy loved spending time at her cottage.

    Mrs. Eddy is survived by two children, Dawn (Richard) Cottrill of Erin, Ontario, Canada and Janette (Tim) Carver of Sanborn, NY, and was predeceased by one daughter, Janelle (James of Youngstown, NY) Wegener. Virginia is also survived by six grandchildren, James (Janet) Wegener of Niagara Falls, NY, Doris Carver of Billings, MT, Janelle Katherine (Frank) Dengate of Niagara Falls, NY, Jeanette (Richard) Koch of North Tonawanda, NY, Paul Carver of Sanborn, NY, and Jennifer (Benjamin) Bailey of Oneida, NY; four great-grandchildren, Shaun, Alexander, Grace and Molly; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

    There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 11:00 AM in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1010 Michigan Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Private burial will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
