Do either of you know of a Dwight Thornton b. 5/8/1914 Middlebury, IN. d. 4/23/1929 s/o L. H. Thornton of S. 8th St. Goshen? I have that short obit.
I have a Dwight Thornton s/o George Francis b. abt.1896 d. 1916. He was listed in a census report, but I can't remember where I got the year of death. I am still working on Dwight and Vera.

Tavares, Fla. -- Notice has been received of the death of Ned B. Shields, 77 of Cove Road, Tavares, who died June 9, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Gainesville, Fla. He had been ill for the past year.
He was born in Indianapolis. He was married to Vera Thornton of Elkhart, who died in 1958. He then married Dorothy Perkins in 1959 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He retired from Battjes Chevrolet in 1959.
Survivors include the widow, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Smith of Adrian, MI.
Services were held at the Steverson Funeral Chapel in Tavares, with the Rev. Joseph Porter, of the Union Congregational Church of Tavares officiating. Burial was in Pine Forest Cemetery in Mount Dora.
Mr. Shields was a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion post in Elkhart and a member of the Union Congregational Church.
