ILION - Gerald D. Wohler, 35,
died Nov. 21, 1955 at his home,
51 W. River St., after a long ill-
ness.
He was born Feb. 19, 1920 in
Fairfield, son of George and Nel-
lie Grower Wohler. He married
Helen Preston in Decatur on Apr.
2, 1942.
A resident of Ilion for three
years coming here from Norway.
Mr. Wohler was employed as a
stock clerk in the Chicago Pneu-
matic. He was assistant scout-
master of the Methodist Boy
Scout Troop and a member of the
Special Police.
Besides his wife he leaves five
daughters, Margery, Carol, Bar-
bara, Janice and Karen; his
father an dmother in Newport;
two brothers, Kenneth, New-
burgh, and Edward, Washington.
The funeral will be at 2 Wed-
nesday at the home with the Rev.
Carlton Van Arnum, pastor of the
Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Middleville
Cemetery.

For the first time since the establishment
of the Decatur Methodist church
in 1807, a wedding was performed in
that sanctuary-that of Miss Helen
Lyndell Preston, daughter of Mrs.
Anthony J. Preston of Decatur, and
Gerald D. Wohler, son of Mr. and Mrs.
George W. Wohler of Olney, Md. The
wedding ceremony was performed by
the Rev. Wheaton P. Webb, pastor of
Worcester and Decatur Methodist
churches, Thursday, of last Week at
The bride was attired in a streetlength
dress of charm blue with matching
accessories. Her corsage was talisman
roses and ferns. Attending her
was a sister, Miss Muriel Preston, who
wore petal rose with hat and gloves to
match and a corsage of rose-colored
sweet peas. Edward Wohler, the
groom's brother, was best man:
Miss Lucretia Dailey provided the
wedding music. Following a trip to
Washington, D. C, the couple will
°reside at Newport, where the groom is
engaged in farming.
Mrs. Wohler is a graduate of Worcester
Central school and Attended
State Normal, while Mr. Wohler graduated
from the West Canada Valley Central
school.

Graw of Ilion; Mr. and Mrs. Smith,
