Death of Mrs. F Bieman ( Christina Schaus)
The funeral of the late Mrs Fred Bieman, who died August 15th took place Wednesday August 17 from her
Lafe residence on the Carrick Normanby town line, 1 1/4 miles south of Molke to St.Jacobi
Lutheran Church , Lauderbach , of which church she was an esteemed member. Internment was made.
Internment was made in the Lutheran cemetery across the way from the church. The Pastor Rev. W. H.
Wenzlaff performed the obsequies. She reached the age of 57 years, 1month and 12 days.
Before her marriage the deceased was Christina B Schaus the fourth daughter of the late Jacob B. Schaus and
Christina Dahmer and was born July 3, 1875, in Normanby Township, on the same place where she died.
After her marriage to the late Mr. Fred Bieman in November 1894 the couple took up farming in Carrick
township, where they lived for about fifteen years. They then moved too Howick township and took a farm on
the twelfth concession. After ten years sojourn in Howick the family returned to Normanby and took up
residence t her homestead. Of this union eight children were born,, six sons and and two daughters. all of whom
remain to mourrn the passing of their parents. The late Mr. Bieman died three years ago. The children are
Edwin Nelson of Hanover,,Lydia (Mrs. Fred Lang of Clifford), Otto of Normanby, Levi of Kitchener, Emma
(Mrs. Henry Henkel of Normanby, Alfred and Milton at home.
She is also survived by five sisters and four brothers. Elizabeth of Neustadt Maria, Mrs John Bieman of
Carrick, Katie (Mrs. Chas Wagner) of Neustadt, Margaret (Mrs. Chas Herbs) of Waterloo, Lydia (Mrs.
Henry Kolpin) of Kitchener, Martyred Schaus of of Ayton, and Mrs. Jacob Schaus of Port Elgin. The oldest
brother, Peter Schaus predeceased her about three years ago.
The deceased had Been in poor health for the past months, but it was not until an operation in the Guelph
hospital revealed the presence of Cancer that her condition was considered serious. During the last weeks of
her life she experienced no pain and passed quietly away on the aforementioned Date.
Many friends and relatives had come to pay their last respects from the following places: London, Kitchener,
Waterloo, Elmwood, Hanover, Ayton, Neustadt and Clifford. Many beautiful floral tributes were in evidence
and included the following pieces: a pillow from the family, a wreath from the brothers and sisters, a cross from
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bieman and sprays from Mr.Daniel Bieman and family. Mr. and Mrs. Conn. Schaus, Mr.
and Mrs. Wm. Weigel, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Baetz, Mr. and Mrs. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Bieman, Mr. and Mrs.
Erwin Bieman, Mrs. and Mrs. Wm. Fischer, Mr. & Mrs. Sam Kreller, Mr. and Mrs.Chas Wagner, Mrs.
Barabara Baetz and Mrs. Peter Schaus.
The following acted as pall bearers Fred Baetz, Reuben Kuhl, Traugott Tanner, Wm. Baetz Andrew Rahn an
Wm. Fischer.
