BRAUTIGAM, Anita - Was called home to God, in the arms of the angels, on Saturday, October 5, 2002 at the age of 71 after a courageous battle with cancer. Anita is survived by her beloved husband Bud (Gerald) whom she shared 52 years of marriage. She will be sadly missed by her children and grandchildren, Susan Longpre, her husband Paul and their children Kevin and Kyle; Lori Vasey, her husband Bruce and their children Brad and Chris; Jim Brautigam, his wife Rhonda and their children Candice and Amanda. Anita is also cherished by her brother, Bill Lahn and her sister, Delores Timm. She is predeceased by her father, William Lahn; her mother, Meta Rahn; her sister-in-law, Jay Lahn and her brother-in-law, Bob Timm Sr. Anita loved her home in Southampton, that she and Bud shared for the last 12 years, where many family dinners and gatherings took place. She was an active member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church and the KW Jacettes. Anita's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Monday) at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (749-8467). A celebration of Anita's life will take place 2 p.m. Tuesday October 8, 2002 at St. Lukes Lutheran Church (317 Franklin St. N., Kitchener). Cremation to follow. Donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or Southampton Hospital Fund in Anita's memory would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy (cards available at the funeral home). Special thanks to Dr. Williamson and the caring nurses and staff on the PT Unit at Freeport Hospital. Also a heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Gundrum of Port Elgin and to the nurses and staff at Southampton Hospital. Their kindness and compassion helped Anita and her family during this difficult journey.
