    A WEDDING TRIP to Washington. D.C.. is
    being taken by Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Townsend
    and his bride, the former Miss Linda Martin,
    who were wed Saturday evening (April 29. 1961).
    Rev. Paul Hartenberger officiated at a candlelight
    double-ring ceremony at Trinity Lutheran
    Church. Milton Freer was soloist, accompanied
    bv Walter Kittel at tlhe organ.
    THE BRIDE is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
    Norman D. Martin, Townline Road. Sanborn. The
    bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald
    Townsend. 25th Street.
    Given in marriage by her father, the former
    Miss Martin was attired in a gown of rosepoint
    lace styled with Sabrina neckline, long sleeves
    and full skirt of lace and net ruffles. The gown
    extended into a chapel-length train.
    A crown of pearls, and crystals held her threetiered
    scalloped veil, and she carried white roses
    and stephanotis surrounding a white orchid.

    MRS. RAMON RIVERA, sister of the bride,
    was matron of honor. She wore a gown of white
    nylon organdy over orchid taffeta featuring an
    orchid pleated cummerbund ending in wide
    panels down the back.
    Miss Marlene Townsend, sister of the bridegroom;
    Miss Caren O'Connor and Miss June
    Glover were bridesmaids, attired in pink and
    white ensembles similarly styled to the one worn
    by the honor attendant.
    Merle Hansen was best man, and ushers were
    Edward Martin, brother of the bride; Robert
    Townsend, brother of the bridegroom; and Anthony
    Nasca.
    Pamela Hoffman was flower girl for her aunt,
    and serving as ring bearer was Larry McCollum,
    the bride's nephew.

    A RECEPTION was held in honor of the
    newlyweds at the Cambria Community Center.
    When thev return from their honeymoon, Mr.
    and Mrs. Townsend will be at home at 746 17th
    Street, after May 5.

    Hospital. Mr. Martin was a resident
    of Sanborn since 1930 and an exempt
    member of National Hose Co. Retired
    in 1970 after 40 years with
    Buffalo Slag Co. Husband of the late
    Catherine (nee Langbehn) Martin.
    Mr. Martin is survived by one son,
    Edward (Roberta) Martin of Boise,
    Idaho; six daughters, Mrs.
    Lawrence (Priscilla) McCollum of
    Lockport, Mrs. John (Patricia)

    Robert (Beverly) Adams of Niagara

    two brothers, Floyd (Helen) Martin
    of Tucker, Ga., and Dennis (Arlyn)
    Martin of North Tonawanda; three
    sisters, Mrs. Emerson (Geneva)
    Cory of Tonawanda, Mrs. Bernice
    Witkop and Mrs. Virginia Mussall,
    both of North Tonawanda. Grandfather
    of 17 grandchildren and 12
    great grandchildren.
    Friends may call Thursday 2 to 4
    and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wattengel
    Funeral Home, Inc., 307 Oliver St.,
    North Tonawanda where services
    will be held Saturday at a time to be
    announced, the Rev. Norman
    Timmerman officiating. Interment
    Flmlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,

    NORTH TONAWANDA, June 19
    -Mrs. Ida Martin, 75, a life long
    resident of this city died yesterday in
    her home, 283 Bryant street, after a
    short illness. A Gold Star Mother,
    she was a member of Tonawandas
    Post 264, American Legion Auxiliary.
    She was a charter member of Grace
    United Lutheran church and of the
    Ladies Aid of the church.
    Surviving are six sons, Henry, Oscar
    and Elmer, North Tonawanda;
    Dennis, Tonawanda: Norman, Sanborn,
    and Lt. Col. Floyd Martin of
    the United States Army in Tokyo;
    three daughters, Mrs. George Bingert,
    Mrs. Walter Witkop and Miss
    Virginia Martin; two brothers, William
    and Fred Hamann, three sisters,
    Mrs. Philip Martin, Ncwfanc; Mrs.
    William Thielke and Mrs. Augusta
    Golem, all of Tonawanda, 20 grand
    children and 5 great grandchildren.
    A son, George, was killed in World
    War 1.
    Friends may call at Wattengel
    Funeral home, Oliver street. Time of
    the funeral will be announced later.
