    LOCKPORT — Helen R. (Schuler) Townsend, age 93, of Lockport, entered into rest on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Niagara Hospice House. Born September 14, 1916 in Cambria, NY, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Elizabeth (Keller) Schuler. Helen was a graduate of Lockport High School. She married Raymond W. Townsend on May 31, 1939 in Wilson. Mr. Townsend died on November 1, 1998. Helen had worked at Mt. View Health Facility in Lockport as a cook. She retired in 1978 after 13 years. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, sewing, baking and gardening. Helen had lived most of her life in Lockport. Loving mother of Nancy French of Newfane, Donna Parmley of Lockport and Anne (Rodger) George of Lockport; a son predeceased Helen, Raymond P. Townsend; sister of Elmer Schuler of Cambria and Thelma Berst of North Carolina and the late Alton Schuler, Donald Schuler, Alice Hammer and Vira Schuler; 12 grandchildren, 23 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and her canine friend, Sara, also survives her. There will be no prior visitation. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, Newfane, NY.     WILSON, June 3—The marriage
    of Helen Schuler Hiam, daughter of
    Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schuler, of
    Cambria Center, to Raymond W.
    Townsend, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar
    Townsend, of Sanborn, was solemnised
    at 13 o'clock noon, May 31,
    at the rectory of the Immaculate
    Conception church here. The Rev.
    Father Edward Roche officiated.
    Miss Helen Townsend, of Sanborn,
    and Clarence A. Townsend,
    of Lockport, sister and brother of
    the groom, were the couple's only
    attendants.
    Mr. and Mrs. Townsend will make
    their home In Lockport.
