    Wesley R. Pokelwaldt, of East Amherst, Erie County, NY, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2008, at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. He was born in Glendora, CA, on September 10, 1962, the son of Neil I. Pokelwaldt and the late Helen A. (Wilcox) Pokelwaldt.Wes moved to Sanborn with his family in 1963. He attended and graduated from Starpoint Central School. He was a iron worker with Ironworkers Local # 9 in Niagara Falls, for over 20 years.Besides his father; he is survived by two daughters, Casey J. and Amy L. Pokelwaldt; three sisters, Deborah A. (Patrick) Barry, Linda Pokelwaldt and Sharon R. (Neil) Harvey; dear friend of Diana Daigler; his former wife, Jayne Lemke; also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Wes was the brother of the late Neil I. Pokelwaldt, Jr.There will be no prior visitation. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at North Ridge Cemetery, with the Rev. David Beutel officiating. Memorials may be made in his name to the Susan B.     OBITUARY

    Neil I. Pokelwaldt of Sanborn, NY, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020, in the Newfane Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.   He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 22, 1929, a son of the late Irving and Eleanor [Wendt] Pokelwaldt.
    Mr. Pokelwaldt graduated from Trott Vocational High School.
    He was a plant security guard at the East Delevan Chevrolet Engine Plant for over 20 years before retiring and operated his own farm.
    Mr. Pokelwaldt was an Exempt Member of the Sanborn Fire Company and  avid sportsman.
    He was the husband of the late Helen A. [Wilcox] Pokelwaldt .
    Mr. Pokelwaldt is survived by three daughters Deborah A. (late Patrick) Barry, Linda Pokelwaldt and Sharon R.(Neil) Harvey, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
    He was the father of the late Wesley Pokelwaldt and Neil Pokelwaldt, Jr., grandfather of the late Dean Barry,  brother of the late Jean (Ronald) Coleman and Ruth (Robert) Wray.
    His family will be present on Tuesday from 4-8 PM  at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.
    Private inurnment will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY.

He was a native of Niagara Falls and had resided in the Sanborn area since 1920, where he had operated a farm. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church of Niagara Falls. He is survived by a son, Neil I. Pokelwaldt of Sanborn; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Jean) Coleman and Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Wray, both of Sanborn; a brother, Norman Poklewaldt (sic) of North Tonawanda; and a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Erma) Haseley of Bergholtz. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Edward Poklewaldt (sic). Funeral services will be at the Rhoney Funeral Home, 5893 Hoover Road, Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Daniel Otto officiating. Burial will be in the Wheatfield Cemetery.     She was a native of the Town of Lewiston and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls.
    Survivors include her husband Irving; a son, Neil; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Jean) Coleman and Mrs. Robert (Ruth Wray. both of Sanborn; two brothers, Benjamin Wendt of Sanborn, and Philip Wendt of Bergholtz; four sisters, Mrs. Albert Pills, Mrs. John Mehls, both of Niagara Falls, and Mrs. Alexander Doan of Niagara Falls, Ont., and Mrs. Stanley Speck of Chicago, and 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Pike and Jones Funeral Home, Hoover Road, here. The Rev. Walter Schultz, of Grace Lutheran. Church, wi1l officiate. Burial will he in Wheatfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

    William C. Andrees, 100, a retired employee of the Wurlitzer Co. and a charter member of the Adams Fire Company and the Volunteer Fireman's Benevolent Association, died Friday (Dec. 17, 1999) in the Niagara Lutheran Home in Buffalo after a brief illness.
    He was born in Wheatfield, where he worked on his parents' farm and attended St. John Lutheran School.
    For 42 years, he worked at the former Wurlitzer Co. in North Tonawanda as a lumber handler and as an assistant supervisor. He retired in 1965.
    Andrees was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church and a member of the Wheatfield Senior Citizens.
    His wife, the former Florence M. Heschke, died in 1985.
    Survivors include two sons, Edward W. of North Tonawanda and William A.; a daughter, VA Lemke of North Tonawanda; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John Lutheran Church, Ward Road and Niagara Falls Boulevard. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.

    of Wheatfield celebrated their 65th
    wedding anniversary Thursday
    Mr. Andrees and the former
    Florence Heschke were married
    June 27,1920, at St John's Lutheran
    Church, Ward Road. Wheatfield, by
    the Rev. J. Walter Thiemecke They
    are still members of the church and
    are the longest married couple in the
    congregation.

    Mr Andrees was employed by the

    and Ladies Auxiliary.
    Mr Andrees enjoys working in his
    garden and taking care of their
    home.
